将前后方都作为区域的是普贤(藏文:ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ།),殊胜的行持则显示为安住于此。这两者象征着整个坛城的行为和作用。那些广为人知的康区派认为应该安住在坛城的中央是不合理的,因为《释续·明镜》中说:“殿堂的前后,普贤父母,虚空的颜色。”这与上述说法相违背。四个门廊处,降伏恶毒者的忿怒尊,东门是阎魔敌(藏文:གཤིན་རྗེ་གཤེད།),南方是大威力(藏文:སྟོབས་ཆེན།),西方是马头明王(藏文:རྟ་མགྲིན།),北方是甘露漩(藏文:བདུད་རྩི་འཁྱིལ་བ།),各自与自己的明妃,铁钩(藏文:ལྕགས་ཀྱུ།),索(藏文:ཞགས་པ།),铁链(藏文:ལྕགས་སྒྲོག།),铃(藏文:དྲིལ་བུ།)四位空行母的眷属一同安住。这里有些人说,将本师普贤安置在殿堂里,有主次颠倒的过失。这是因为他们失去了能够清楚显示自性的祈请文。因为并非只有讲经者才能成为坛城的主尊。例如,文殊幻网坛城的主尊就不会是本师释迦牟尼。第三,金刚等一颂,象征五种智慧的五部本尊的自性标志是:以无法被边执分别的象征,不动金刚(藏文:རྡོ་རྗེ།);以能够掌控一切的象征,毗卢遮那佛的法轮(藏文:འཁོར་ལོ།);以自然成就伟大功德的象征,宝生佛的如意宝(藏文:རིན་པོ་ཆེ།);以明澈而不执著地观照的象征,无量光佛的莲花(藏文:པདྨ།);以四种事业断除众生的烦恼的象征,不空成就佛的宝剑(藏文:རལ་གྲི།);以及智慧之境法界的印玺——铃(藏文:དྲིལ་བུ།),所有这些都闪耀着光芒。这五位佛父,右手持各自的自性标志于心间,左手持铃倚靠在腰间,拥抱着佛母。五位佛母则相反,右手持铃从佛父的右腰处拥抱,左手持自性标志于心间。菩萨们的标志是:文殊菩萨以清净烦恼而智慧增长的缘故,持优昙花(藏文:ཨུཏྤལ།);弥勒菩萨以救护痛苦的缘故,持龙树(藏文:ཀླུ་ཤིང་།)等等来象征,其他菩萨也以各自的标志来象征。例如:地藏菩萨是生出智慧的珍宝苗芽(藏文:རིན་ཆེན་མྱུ་གུ།);虚空藏菩萨是断除烦恼的宝剑(藏文:རལ་གྲི།);观世音菩萨是无垢的白莲花(藏文:པད་དཀར།);金刚手菩萨是降伏烦恼的金刚杵(藏文:རྡོ་རྗེ།);

That which makes the front and back into regions is Samantabhadra (Tibetan: ཀུན་ཏུ་བཟང་པོ།), and excellent conduct is shown to abide there. These two symbolize the actions and functions of the entire mandala. It is unreasonable for those well-known Kham traditions to hold that they should reside in the center of the mandala, because the "Explanatory Tantra Mirror" states: "In the front and back of the courtyard, the Samantabhadra parents, the color of the sky." This contradicts the aforementioned statement. At the four archways, the wrathful deities who subdue the wicked, Yamantaka (Tibetan: གཤིན་རྗེ་གཤེད།) at the east gate, Mahabala (Tibetan: སྟོབས་ཆེན།) at the south, Hayagriva (Tibetan: རྟ་མགྲིན།) at the west, and Amrita Kundali (Tibetan: བདུད་རྩི་འཁྱིལ་བ།) at the north, each abides with their consorts, the four yoginis of hook (Tibetan: ལྕགས་ཀྱུ།), noose (Tibetan: ཞགས་པ།), chain (Tibetan: ལྕགས་སྒྲོག།), and bell (Tibetan: དྲིལ་བུ།). Here, some say that placing the teacher Samantabhadra in the courtyard has the fault of reversing the main and subordinate. This is because they have lost the prayer that clearly shows their own nature. Because it is not certain that only the expounder of the tantra can be the main deity of the mandala. For example, the main deity of the Manjushri Guhyasamaja mandala will not be the teacher Shakyamuni. Third, the verse beginning with "Vajra" states that the self-symbols of the five families, which represent the five wisdoms, are: as a symbol of being indivisible by extreme conceptualization, Akshobhya's vajra (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ།); as a symbol of being able to control everything, Vairochana's wheel (Tibetan: འཁོར་ལོ།); as a symbol of spontaneously accomplishing great qualities, Ratnasambhava's wish-fulfilling jewel (Tibetan: རིན་པོ་ཆེ།); as a symbol of seeing clearly and without attachment, Amitabha's lotus (Tibetan: པདྨ།); as a symbol of cutting off the afflictions of beings with four activities, Amoghasiddhi's sword (Tibetan: རལ་གྲི།); and the seal of the wisdom realm, the bell (Tibetan: དྲིལ་བུ།), all of which are blazing with light. These five fathers hold their respective self-symbols at their hearts with their right hands, and hold the bell at their waists with their left hands, embracing the mothers. The five mothers are the opposite, embracing the fathers from their right waists with the bell in their right hands, and holding their self-symbols at their hearts with their left hands. The symbols of the bodhisattvas are: Manjushri holds an utpala flower (Tibetan: ཨུཏྤལ།) because his wisdom increases due to the purification of afflictions; Maitreya holds a nag वृक्ष (Tibetan: ཀླུ་ཤིང་།) and so on to symbolize saving beings from suffering, and the other bodhisattvas are also symbolized by their respective symbols. For example, Kshitigarbha is a precious sprout (Tibetan: རིན་ཆེན་མྱུ་གུ།) that generates wisdom; Akashagarbha is a sword (Tibetan: རལ་གྲི།) that cuts off afflictions; Avalokiteshvara is a white lotus (Tibetan: པད་དཀར།) that is unstained by faults; Vajrapani is a vajra (Tibetan: རྡོ་རྗེ།) that subdues afflictions;

The pacifier is the wheel of knowing afflictions as the nature of Dharma. Kunsang is the precious spike of fulfilling hopes. Here, starting from the edge of the outer mind, what is said about hand gestures and other contents? It is because the hand gestures of the other six are all included in the hand gestures of the five families. Like the bell on the left. The eight Mind Goddesses are in a beautiful and graceful manner, with pleasing offerings, a bright mirror, and a rosary with continuous fragrance, holding their own implements that match their names. The eight Mind Heroes hold the bell on their left and lean on their waists, and the way the fathers and mothers embrace each other is also as described in the previous five families. The four gatekeepers are: cutting off hatred with love, stopping suffering with compassion, not abandoning the meaning of beings with joy, and accomplishing the benefit of beings with equanimity, so they hold the (Tibetan: ནྲྀ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: नृ, Sanskrit Romanization: nṛ, Chinese literal meaning: human) head raised high, etc. The four immeasurable mothers hold beings with compassion, Binding, guarding without losing, and rejoicing in turning afflictions into ashes, so they hold iron hooks, etc. Kunsang father and mother know the equality of samsara and nirvana by action, and their actions dwell pervading all places with intention, so they hold the mudra of equanimity. The six Thubpas are: subduing arrogance with the Dharma sound of the four means of attraction, so the Thubpa of the gods holds a lute. Subduing jealousy with patience, the Thubpa of the Asuras holds armor. Purifying desire with the path of detachment, so the Thubpa of humans holds a razor. Teaching the Dharma to eliminate ignorance, so the Thubpa of animals holds a scripture. Eliminating hunger and thirst to purify stinginess, so the Thubpa of pretas holds a jewel box. Showing the faults of heat and cold to purify hatred, so the Thubpa of hell holds fire and water. In the occasion of explaining faces and hand gestures, there are three types: extensive, medium, and concise. The extensive one is that all except the consorts and the six Thubpas are said to have three faces and six arms, as stated in the Vajra Tantra. Other than that, the five families or only the main deity having three faces and six arms is the medium style. All having one face and two arms is the concise style. Here, the Lamas practice the medium style of the five families with three faces and six arms, therefore, according to this, it is said in the Vajra: Vajra wheel sword blazing, bell lotus jewel.

This is the order of taking vows. In any other place, the Vajra Wisdom, initially embracing the heart and the left. Thus, the complete display of Akshobhya's mudra, for the other four families, first the right hand holds their respective emblems, and then the transfer of the vajra is its specialty. Fourth, blue and so on, there are six colors. That is, the body color has two kinds of colors: family and mixed family. The first, the body color of the family is twenty-three. As stated in the first chapter, it is necessary to clearly define the symbolism of the five families representing the five wisdoms. Akshobhya, Karma, Vajrapani each with their consorts. The Sage of the Asuras and seven are blue. Vairochana and Kshitigarbha with their consorts. The Sage of the Devas and five are white. Ratnasambhava and Akashagarbha with their consorts. The Sage of the Humans and five are yellow. Amitabha and Avalokiteshvara with their consorts, four are brick red, that is, red. Amoghasiddhi's parents are green. Second, from among those and so on, the various body colors mixed with two families are nineteen. Maitreya is white and yellow, etc., the four outer minds of the corners, the parents separated are eight, which are colors mixed in two directions. The Subduers of the east gate, etc., the eight parents are smoky yellow, red, green, four colors mixed with black. Among the six Sages, animals are red-black. Hungry ghosts are yellow-black. Hell is smoky. The nine peaceful postures are: those deities also have soft bodies because pride is purified in its place. Anger is purified and the limbs are supple, or the waist is half-bent and coordinated. Desire is purified and skillful means and wisdom intertwine, or the body does not relax due to the habit of intertwining. Jealousy is purified and the body is upright and graceful. Ignorance is purified and the body is young and plump. Abandoning ignorance, the body is clean and bright. Wisdom increases and shines brightly. Complete with marks and signs, majestic and pleasing, therefore, it is dignified and beautiful. Overpowering everything with great qualities, therefore, it has great power. The former five are the qualities of nature, and the latter four are the qualities of form. How do those bodies emit light? From each pore of the peaceful ones, bright and pure white, yellow, red, blue, madder, silver, and other six rays of light are emitted, and each ray emits six million great collections of light in ten directions.
