第二,心要的意义是:心要的词,有sāra(萨ra,精华),hṛdaya(赫利达雅,心),garbha(嘎尔布,藏)三种。

Regarding the manner of concealing, although Śrī Paramādya divides the three, such as nature, and Vimalamitra adds the secret of non-manifestation to make four, the secret of nature belongs to the category of concealment, and the secret of non-manifestation also belongs to the category of concealment. Therefore, here, the two, concealment and obscuration, are distinguished by the difference between what is difficult to understand and what cannot be understood. Precisely because of this, it is said in the text, "From within them, the meaning of concealment and obscuration arises." And, "Without understanding the secret of concealment, one becomes manifestly attached to the secret of obscuration." Therefore, what is the object of concealment? It is those with deluded minds. How is it concealed? The object to be signified, the continuum of nature, the reality of suchness, although it naturally exists within itself, is like an underground treasure in the house of a poor person, obscured by sudden delusion and conceptualization, and thus not seen. This is concealment. As it is said in the Manifest Enlightenment of Vairocana, "Because children are obscured by ignorance, those who have not come to know this way seek the Buddha elsewhere, not seeing that he dwells here." This is an analogy. Therefore, the profound view and conduct of the unsurpassed, whether taught by oneself or others, are concealed because they are not understood, just as the white appearance of a conch is concealed from one with jaundice. Regarding the secret of obscuration, what is obscured? It is the excellent view and the extraordinary practice of the unsurpassed secret mantra. From whom is it obscured? It is from those of the lower vehicles and those who are individual beings with wrong views, etc., those who are not ripened vessels, because these are not suitable objects for their practice. If it is not obscured, based on this, unbearable exaggerations and slanders will arise, causing them to fall into lower realms, and by divulging the secret, one will also decline. How is it obscured? Through means such as symbols. As it is said in the Clear Illumination of the Vows, "Secret mantra is not faulty, it is kept very secret for the sake of sentient beings. If one can keep the secret, the accomplishment will not be lost. For the sake of secrecy, various symbols are taught." Second, the meaning of essence: The word essence has three terms: sāra (萨ra,essence), hṛdaya (赫利达雅,heart), and garbha (嘎尔布,womb). Sāra (萨ra,essence) refers to the basis from which many arise from one. Therefore, the continuum of nature, which is to be signified, is the source of all phenomena of samsara and nirvana arising from realization and non-realization. And this continuum, which establishes it, is also the basis from which all teachings arise, therefore it is the essence.

hrīdaya(藏文,梵文天城体:हृदय,梵文罗马拟音:hrīdaya,汉语字面意思:心)是指像生命或心脏一样珍爱之义。 garbha(藏文,梵文天城体:गर्भ,梵文罗马拟音:garbha,汉语字面意思:胎藏)是指如同外壳内的精华。

Famous in all ten directions, emanating from the Secret Essence. Thus it is said. Hridaya (藏文,梵文天城体:हृदय,梵文罗马拟音:hrīdaya,汉语字面意思:heart) refers to the meaning of cherishing like life or the heart. No matter which vehicle's door one enters from, one cannot ultimately transcend this single path, therefore, all who desire liberation should rely on it, hence it is the essence. As it is said: In kalpas equal to the dust of fields, diligently cultivate and abide, completely practice all mandalas, this is the fruit of the great secret. Thus it is said. Garbha (藏文,梵文天城体:गर्भ,梵文罗马拟音:garbha,汉语字面意思:womb) refers to something like the essence within a husk. Since all conceptualizations are primordially pure as the nature of deities, the meaning of establishing samsara and nirvana as equality is the nature of all dharmas, hence it is like dwelling in the center, or it is called the essence because of the meaning of gathering essence. Moreover, in the Extensive Commentary, it says: These great methods of realizing the unsurpassed meaning include all the immeasurable liberation vehicles. Also, the Vajra Garland says: The realm that dwells in the center of all dharmas is pervasive and not an object of practice. Thus it is said. Third, the meaning of suchness has three aspects: To leave the spontaneously arisen wisdom of inseparable appearance and emptiness uncorrected by the mind that meditates is the suchness of the cause, because it is not deceiving in the arising of the result. That same spontaneously arising in the result as the mandala of body and wisdom has no inverted dharmas to be removed, hence it is the suchness of the result. From the wisdom of inseparable self-nature and truth, there is no other knowable or achievable dharma separate from it. Since even the distinction of cause and effect is not established in it, it is free from imputation and denigration, hence it is the suchness of one taste of cause and effect. These are also as the Vajra says: In that which cause and effect are not two, that nature is threefold by occasion. Thus it is said. Fourth, the meaning of certainty: It is not merely shown as a means of guiding those with inferior faculties so that they are not wasted, but here, the meaning of how the Victorious Ones themselves understood it is shown to those with fortunate sharp faculties, hence it is certain. Thus it is said: There is no secret definitive meaning of the Victorious Ones' entire mandala that is superior to this. Furthermore, the ground continuum, which is the source of all dharmas, is secret because it is difficult to realize. In its nature, whatever arises is pure appearance by way of settling without acceptance or rejection.
