The ground is vast! In that state, the mind is like a crow chasing, it must be stopped abruptly. These allow the wind of Mahamudra to enter, thereby nakedly realizing the primordial meaning. These are the practices in meditative equipoise. Afterwards, when practicing in post-meditation, from the three aspects of ground, path, and fruition, the sharpness of the ground lies in: at all times and places, one must maintain the sharpness of awareness, maintain radiance, and maintain vigilance. The sharpness of the path lies in: whether walking, sitting, lying down, or waking up, one must not lose the sharpness of awareness. Awareness should flutter and stir like a banner moved by the wind. The sharpness of the fruition lies in the blessing, the sharp edge of compassion: with sharp, weapon-like focus, whatever is directed at illness, demons, afflictions, or thoughts, all are liberated in their own place, thereby the nature of reality dawns, free from elaboration, obtained from the realm of experience, and arises as an aid. The fourth is maintaining as it is, and the fifth is divided into two months, totaling four dharmas. First, entering into habituation: in meditative equipoise, habituating the essence is very important; without habituation, even if destroyed, the traces are not clear. If awareness is not habituated by the essence, it will become exhausted by practice; even if habituated, one must still practice in order to enhance the experience. Thus, taming the wild mind of essence and practice is like filling up and then shooting out, or tightening and then loosening. Second, destroying at the point of abruptness: the burning of essence and practice: the stone (burning) must be destroyed abruptly. If one clings to the antidote of meditative equipoise, one will be bound by the meditation experience and unable to see the true nature. Therefore, destroy the activity of the body, like a magical wheel; destroy the activity of speech, making a "phat" sound; relax the activity of the mind. Destroy abruptly, and place it in a state of non-thought and without support. Third, recognition: is to recognize the traces after destroying the antidote, which can recognize all the traces of essence and practice. That is to say, after abruptly destroying the antidote of meditative mind and samadhi, the past knowledge ceases, the future is not born, and the present awareness awakens, relaxes, and naturally and clearly appears, this is itself. That is to say, the essence is awareness, the nature is clarity, the characteristic is non-thought, it is naked, it exists nakedly, it is the cessation of movement, without any thought, it is unconditioned awareness, like the sky. Ah!

This is recognizing the absence of meditation that is free from conceptual movement. Generally, at this time, it is necessary to recognize three things: impurity, appearance, and root. Impurity is the mind of sentient beings with negative thoughts, which is cut off through practice. Whatever thoughts arise are controlled. Appearance is that after controlling and practicing in this way, one becomes attached to good thoughts and experiences, and is unwilling to let go of emptiness. At this time, the instruction of destroying the antidote with "PHAṬ" (Tibetan: ཕཊ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: snap) is used to break it down and settle into non-thought. Root is that in whatever view, meditation, or experience, one settles the naked awareness in a state of no support with "PHAṬ" (Tibetan: ཕཊ་, Sanskrit Devanagari: फट, Sanskrit Romanization: phaṭ, Literal Chinese meaning: snap). In this way, one can recognize the root, nature, or reality. The fourth is repetition, which is introduced here with the essence of the sky-path that was taught earlier. And there are three types of repetition. Repetition of destruction is the repetition of experience, destroying all experiences and thoughts and settling down. Repetition with instructions is the sky-path, which is introduced here. Repetition with thoughts is like recognizing the meaning of the root, and after recognizing that, there is no possibility of going up to become a Buddha or falling down into samsara. Abandon the term for a Dharma that is intentionally done in the mind. Abandon concepts. Abandon thoughts. Be free from the root. Overthrow the antidote. Exhaust the mind and exhaust the Dharma. Be free from elaboration on the ground, so there is no root. Because the root is free from an object, there is no meditation. In reality, because it is free from appearance, there is no experience. Because there is no confusion, it is liberated in itself, so there is no post-meditation. Words are confused, losing meaning, there is no thought, it is recognized in dependent origination. After introducing it like this, it is taught like this: Before mastering equipoise, do not introduce post-meditation. Before mastering practice, do not apply it to the path. Before completing a session, do not leave the lama. Before recognizing it, do not interrupt the guidance. Before experience arises, do not repeat. Before experience is perfected, do not show the letters. When guiding, do not explain the scriptures. Do not give the measure of instructions to someone who does not act as a teacher. That's what was said. These are the instructions introduced through the sixteen practical guides based on the meaning lineage. Second, relying on the word lineage, there are five meanings to cut off superimpositions with sixteen key points: bringing the mind into the path with the mind-generation path, laying the foundation with emptiness meditation, grasping the key points with the meaning of scattering, determining with direct pointing, and finally summarizing into two types, coarse and subtle. The first has four points, namely the view.
