In general, most of what should be protected should be protected during the intermediate asceticism and the time of one's own prosperity, especially during the stage of application, it must be protected very strictly. In any case, one must completely cut off the attachment of the mind that clings to the desires of this life, possess the three vows, and practice without losing the six self-natures of yoga and without being defiled by the impurities of leakage and reversal of the practitioner. If defiled, the respective methods of removal, etc., as mentioned before, apply the removal of obstacles on the path and the enhancement of merits, etc., as oral instructions, and until the stages of the path have not reached the ultimate, one should establish a place and strive to practice. Then, one after another, until the time of the great hero, the self-reliant practice reaches its culmination, and then one can benefit others. Also, when dependent origination does not appear, and the practitioner experiences leakage and is stained by impurities, one should bathe oneself and enter the house of dependent origination. Make offerings to the Three Jewels and pray to the Lama. Then, enter a session, whether practicing the five paths or the three paths, one should recite the mantras that supplement the five paths and the mantras that manifest dependent origination, as appropriate. Sometimes, one should also recite the essence of dependent origination and the essence of Muni. At that time, it is said that one should write the image of the Buddha or the mantra of Muni on the walls. Do not allow other people to enter the house. This is from the guide of the pacifying Dharma, the essence of nectar, the later transmission, the chapter on the guide of the five paths and its supplementary meanings. This guide, called "Essence of Nectar," which compiles the three oral transmission teachings of the pacifying Dharma, is compiled for easy reading, and was spread as a lecture in the Dharma College of Ogyen Mindroling Monastery by the monk of Gnyos, the ignorant Dharmaśrī, who removed the errors. May this also become a cause for the supreme benefit of the Dharma and sentient beings! May it flourish and increase!
