The meaning of "adorned by seven." Many wise people say: Like the Tathagata Dragon King being adorned by seven dragons, it is an analogy for the gradual increase and decrease of the generation stage. However, in the Chinese scriptures, there are "spta, svara," so "seven songs" does not refer to sentient dragon beings. Svara is sound, and spta is seven, meaning seven tones. The way of singing with increasing and decreasing volume, as stated in the "Wish-Fulfilling Jewel Garland": "Six births are like the peacock's cry, the superior bull's voice is the beginning, the incense-holder's birth is the sheep's sound, the middle is like the crane's cry, the fifth is when the flowers bloom, like the cuckoo's cry, intelligence shines like the horse's neigh, the retinue listens like the elephant's roar." Thus, like the sounds of these animals, singing with loud and soft, high and low sounds. The gandi is also, each tantra gradually increases from one to eighteen, and gradually decreases from nineteen to thirty-six, so striking high and low is an analogy. The way of striking during funerals, the so-called "silence," means that the last three sounds are not struck. Also, from the Medicine Buddha Sutra ritual, explaining the vase offering, without abandoning the ritual of that sutra, can the vase offering itself be taken out separately and used for bathing statues, etc.? If so, please grant a complete ritual with preliminaries and conclusion. It seems that there is no tradition of reciting its vase offering separately without relying on the sutra, and there is no particular need to perform such rituals. However, the method of accomplishing vase water with mantras, the Khenpo also used in the Immaculate Ritual, so it seems that it can be combined with the common ritual of the sutra and the action tantra only. If done in this way, then a mandala offering, etc., is arranged in front, and the vase is placed in it, and the Mahayana sojong is taken. The place is blessed by the power of truth. The Eight Sugatas and retinue are invited. After abiding in their respective seats, the seven-branch offering, etc., is offered. Praying to the Eight Sugatas to remember their vows, visualizing light radiating from all parts of the body and dissolving into the vase water, using the water recited with mantras, for bathing, or washing bones to purify the sins of the deceased, etc., it seems that there is no contradiction in meaning.

How can one obtain merit similar to offering to the Buddhas by giving to inferior beings? Because the wisdom of all Buddhas pervades all knowable things, and all dharmas are naturally pure. As the Ratnagotravibhāga states, "With joy and respect like to a teacher." This is in the context of explaining the benefits of understanding the Tathāgatagarbha, mentioning that all sentient beings possess the Tathāgatagarbha, and therefore the benefit of generating respect like towards a teacher. Furthermore, "Even on a single tip of a hair, there are countless Buddha-fields, unmixed and distinct." Just as the profound sutras say that on each knowable thing, there are infinite Buddha-fields. In Secret Mantra, it is also said that all containers and contents are primordially pure mandalas. Therefore, if one gives to sentient beings with the mind of realizing this, not only will one obtain the complete merit of offering to the Buddhas, but also, depending on the motivation, offering to the Buddhas for the sake of this life, and giving to sentient beings for the sake of unsurpassed Bodhi, the latter will have greater benefits, which is a definite truth. If one does not visualize summoning beings as in an empty space, but instead visualizes various kinds of sentient beings in front of oneself, and recites scriptures and other sounds to purify their sins, will this benefit sentient beings and will one be able to obtain merit? Even in an empty space, although one's senses do not directly see sentient beings, it is said in the scriptures that the entire container-world is filled with sentient beings without interruption, so doing this is meaningful. Which is more profound: always basing oneself on a good motivation and striving to read scriptures and exerting oneself in recitation? It is not definite. If one aims to achieve the benefit of oneself and others, engaging in study and contemplation by holding the words of pure doctrinal systems and contemplating their meaning, and mentally visualizing the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, performing prostrations, offerings, praises, and aspirations with faith, respect, and heightened intention, the former is the activity of reading, hearing, and thinking, and the latter is the activity of practice and experiential cultivation, both of which have immeasurable benefits. Otherwise, for those of lesser intelligence,
