are the special qualities of the Buddhas and Noble Ones. As such, although it is difficult to measure with worldly wisdom, I have answered to the best of my ability, and I hope it permeates your heart. In the future, may your unwavering banner of practice, which never fades, become a contributing factor to the flourishing of the practice lineage, may your activities increase, may your health be good, and may everything be as smooth as a flowing river. I offer sacred objects, tokens of faith, and khatas. To the feet of the Lord of Yoga, the Great Accomplished One, Orgyen Tenzin, an old bhikshu reports: Recently, your body has not been affected by disturbances of the elements, and the favorable conditions for practicing the sacred Dharma are also not low. In the supreme secluded place blessed by the great vidyadhara Padmasambhava, the embodiment of all Buddhas, you are effortlessly and naturally maintaining all phenomena of samsara and nirvana in the realm of self-aware primordial wisdom, in a manner that is equal, all-pervasive, and without any effort, without ever being distracted. During this time, I received your handwritten letter, which detailed the situation. Also, one zho of gold, silver coins, and excellent divine offerings were delivered intact, and the joy in my heart increased as if I had seen you in person. I, an old man, am also in good health and am temporarily residing here in a form of retreat. As you said, although naked awareness manifests various appearances, whatever arises has not moved from awareness itself, and one is able to abide without relying on the apprehended and the apprehender. In the practice of Dzogchen, this belongs to the practice of abiding, one of the four stages of practice, and is similar to abiding in one-pointedness in the Mahamudra tradition. It can be said that one has slightly seen the face of the nature of mind. However, whether or not a stable state has been attained is not yet known. Is there a more excellent state than this that can be seen or realized? This thought, from the perspective of an experience that accords with reality, seems like wisdom that is not confused. But thinking that there is nothing more excellent than this will turn into clinging to the Dharma, becoming a conceptual thought. Therefore, when nakedly and directly looking at one's own awareness, its nature is free from elaboration, and it cannot be grasped anywhere by the mind. The way of experiencing this state and the emptiness of understanding is different, as far as I can understand. However, the so-called seeing the nature of mind is only seeing the general meaning, and it is only introducing it with metaphorical wisdom.

In short, the self-characteristic nature of non-conceptual intrinsic awareness does not exist unless one has attained the first bhumi of the noble path. Even in the stage of the application path of discernment, where one has attained freedom through meditation, it is absent. So, what need is there to mention it for those on the accumulation path or meditators who have not entered the path? Therefore, it is crucial to distinguish between good and bad. Practice within the mindfulness of recognizing dreams, and practice without the mindfulness of thinking, "This is a dream," which becomes clearer and brighter than daytime. From the perspective of transforming dream practice, the former is unchanging and stable, while the latter is highly effective. The latter is merely an experience that arises from the power of daytime virtuous actions, so it rarely becomes the key to stable dream practice. Generally, in deep sleep, the awareness of luminosity and emptiness is free from the stains of conceptual thought and can maintain its own nature. Its potential manifestation can also arise as a transformation in dreams, which is considered part of realizing the luminosity of sleep. Even if it arises in a dream and is not grasped by mindfulness, it is still crucial. In Tögal, by observing the signs of empty forms, it is led into a state of non-conceptuality. For the minds of scholars who are currently studying in monastic colleges and have strong speculative abilities, they are accustomed to such non-conceptuality and think that it is merely shamatha, because without the investigation of discriminating wisdom, it will not become vipassanā. However, habituating oneself to non-conceptual samadhi, from which non-conceptual wisdom arises, is itself the arising of vipassanā with discriminating wisdom. As the Kalachakra tantra says: "Body, speech, and mind arise from solitude, non-conceptual samadhi arises, because non-conceptual samadhi arises, non-conceptual wisdom will surely arise." The teacher Sangye Sangwa also said in the illusory path stages: "Unobjectified, extremely unobjectified, successively unobjectified, without abiding, without concept, without pride, beyond the realm of thought and expression, thusness, the sphere of reality, wisdom, self-luminous, unmoving, shamatha and vipassanā united." In particular, In the Great Perfection's own system, the posture of the body, the way of looking with the eyes.
