It is said that after receiving the empowerment of the black (wrathful) deity, one should not ride a black horse. If that's the case, then after receiving the empowerment of Hayagriva, the red deity, one should not ride a red horse, etc., it seems there is no difference, is that true? If it is said that black Krodha should not use pork as a Tsok offering, then in essence, there seems to be no difference. Answer: Not eating horse meat and not riding black horses, etc., although the documents do not ultimately prohibit it, they also do not allow it. Even if that is the case, these particular vows and details should be kept by the speaker and practitioner. In addition, there is no need to draw an analogy that receiving the empowerment of the black horse deity means one cannot ride a black horse, and similarly, receiving the empowerment of the red Hayagriva means one cannot ride a red horse, etc. Also, some people say that the black Hayagriva is only a deity for temporarily removing obstacles and cannot be taken as the ultimate Yidam. However, Avalokiteśvara, the six-armed Mahakala, etc., have also said that they will liberate from the Bardo. This deity only manifests as the form of a black Yaksha, but its essence is Avalokiteśvara. If one combines the view and meditation of the meaning of reality with it and integrates it into the deity path, then there is no need for an additional other deity. The red and black Hayagriva seem to have no difference, except for whether the supreme completion stage is directly taught or not. If one is not upheld by the correct view, even if one practices Mahottara Heruka, one will not be liberated from Samsara, as Padmasambhava has also said. This situation depends on the individual, and it seems that one should not distinguish between the deities of Yidams as high or low, what is the case? Answer: As you said, the black horse and the six-armed Mahakala, etc., seem to be the wrathful forms of the holy Avalokiteśvara, manifested to subdue beings who are difficult to tame. Therefore, it is very unreasonable to distinguish between the deities as high or low, saying that this one is inferior. From the literal meaning, it seems that it does not emphasize the attainment of the supreme state through the completion stage, but mainly shows the common accomplishments related to the generation stage, just as in the seven terrors of Vajrabhairava, the literal meaning only shows temporary fierce actions. But in reality, as long as it is the tantra of the unsurpassed secret mantra and its pure oral instructions, if the generation stage is taught literally, then the completion stage must be taught implicitly.

Even if the expressions vary in depth, if the essence of the meaning can be thoroughly understood, then the actual meaning expressed will converge into one, either hidden or revealed. The unanimous voice of the holy ones who have not been misled by conceptual thoughts is in accordance with reality, so your own understanding has also gone in the right direction. May all be auspicious! This is the answer from Gelong Ngawang Kunga. Homage to the Guru! The method of performing the Padling Peaceful and Wrathful Guru practice is clearly explained in the ritual manual composed by Je Lama. Here, focusing solely on the Peaceful and Wrathful practice, combining the instructions for using the Dongtrug hand gestures and the Four Great Confessions, this is a record of how to conduct the combined ritual. First, in the center of a well-arranged altar, place the Peaceful Torma, round and majestic, secured with forty-two pegs. To the right, place the Wrathful Deity's glorious Torma, secured with fifty-eight pegs. To the left, arrange the Protector's Torma piles, etc., according to a proportion of one-third or one-fifth, as appropriate. On the right and left sides, place nectar and rakta. In front, starting from the left, arrange the five outer offerings, such as flowers. Starting from the right, arrange the five inner offerings, such as sensory flowers. In front or around the perimeter, arrange the fulfillment offerings of nectar tormas, rakta, and butter lamps, from one to a hundred, as much as possible. Then, the ritual is as follows: After reciting various Guru praises, invoke blessings with musical instruments. Then, purify and cleanse the obstacles with རྃ་ཡྃ་ཁྃ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning: ram yam kham). From emptiness, from བྷྲུཾ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning: bhrum), arise precious vessels, etc., and around them, recite ༀ་ཨཱཿཧཱུྃ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning: om ah hum) three times. Invite the guests with ༀ་བཛྲ་ཨཱ་ཀཪྵ་ཡ་ཛཿ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning: om vajra akarsaya jah). Offer with སརྦ་བིགྷྣཾ་ན་མཿསརྦ་ཏ་ཐཱ་ག་ཏེ་བྷྱོ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning: sarva vighnam namah sarva tathagatebhyo) three times. ཧཱུྃ། (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Literal Chinese meaning: hum) From "conceptual clinging," etc., to "blessing the offerings," proceed according to the usual ritual. Then, from the three samadhis of generating the deity, abide in the state of non-duality. Until "ཨཱ་ཨཱ་ཨཱ།" (Tibetan, None, None, None), recite naturally and fluently, ringing the bell like reciting the Avalokiteshvara mantra, which is best. When reciting, the heart mantra of the Peaceful and Wrathful deities is: It is not necessary to recite the three lines "each circling the mandala." And recite the three lines "All forms are the bodies of the Peaceful and Wrathful, All sounds are the sounds of the heart mantra, All appearances and existence are the play of the Peaceful and Wrathful," and contemplate their meaning. Recite Bodhicitta and Rulu two thousand times, or at least one hundred and eight times.
