In connection with the consecration and offering of printed scriptures, the pure disciples should perform at least a monthly longevity practice with the lineage of longevity empowerment. In connection with this, perform as many death-averting rituals as possible and recite fifteen million life-sustaining dharanis. Create a thangka of the noble White Tara and, in connection with this ritual, recite fifteen million heart mantras. Perform one hundred thousand extensive fire pujas, and a stabilizing ritual in connection with averting obstacles from dakinis. Redeem the lives of as many beings destined to die as possible. Give food, clothing, and other material offerings to the poor. Make complete offerings and prayers to the Dharma protectors. Tara Mandala Perform the four rituals, or in other ways, in connection with offering to the blessed image of the noble Tara, recite as many praises and prayers to the noble Tara as possible. Accumulate one hundred copies of the Ashtasahasrika Prajnaparamita Sutra (Eight Thousand Verse Prajnaparamita Sutra), one thousand copies of the Life Sutra, and be careful to avoid offending evil spirits, and pay attention to removing obstacles, thereby eliminating the dangers of interruption. After overcoming the misfortune, until the age of seventy, small obstacles will be reduced, and avoid touching inauspicious places and trees. Repeating the previous rituals will become particularly important. After that, although there have been no special accidents or obstacles for the time being, in order to prolong life, do your best to perform various longevity services and internal and external longevity practices, and strive to pray and stabilize, so that it can be transformed into goodness. Although it is not clear now whether there will be sudden interruptions in the life of Abbot Shantarakshita, redeeming the lives of beings destined to die, performing corresponding longevity practices according to age, and reciting one hundred thousand life-sustaining dharanis, the Ashtasahasrika Prajnaparamita Sutra and the Suvarnaprabhasa Sutra (Golden Light Sutra) according to age will become particularly important. The steward's own life will encounter obstacles at the age of forty-five, so redeem the lives of beings destined to die, redeeming according to age. In connection with the ritual with empowerment and practice, practice longevity and recite one hundred thousand life-sustaining dharanis. In connection with the White Tara ritual, recite fifteen million heart mantras. Offer many tormas to purify karmic debts, represented by the fire offering torma. Recite the Bhadrakalpika Sutra (Sutra of the Fortunate Aeon) and other scriptures, which is itself a method of eliminating obstacles. If you can overcome this difficulty, then before the age of fifty-three, dangers and obstacles will be reduced. At that time, repeat the previous rituals. At that time, perform various particularly important rituals.
