A Rosary of Jewels, Answering Various Questions in Order. Gyurme Dorje, Terdag Lingpa. Whether or not the Buddha has impure appearances, etc. A treatise called A Rosary of Jewels, Answering Various Questions in Order, is present. Gyurme Dorje, Terdag Lingpa. A treatise called A Rosary of Jewels, Answering Various Questions in Order, is present. Although impure appearances are not impure to the Buddha's wisdom, the impure delusions of sentient beings appear and are seen in the Buddha's wisdom that knows all knowable things. For example, just as the six delusions of the six types of beings appear separately in water, they are also seen. And it is also seen that those are impure delusions, and it is also seen that they are not established as they appear. In short, because all the impure appearances of individual ordinary people, the appearances of both impure and pure of noble beings, and all the extremely pure appearances are known and seen separately, they are called all-knowing and all-seeing. If the impure does not appear, then how is it seen? If it is not seen, then it cannot be known. How can it be called knowing all knowable things and seeing all things by only knowing and seeing the pure appearances? If all the impure does not appear and is not seen to the Buddha, then the sentient beings to be tamed will also not appear and will not be seen, and the Dharma that tames them, the teaching, will also not appear and will not be seen. If the sentient beings to be tamed do not appear to the Buddha in his appearance, then the two form bodies and the fields, etc., will also be the appearances of the sentient beings to be tamed. Therefore, the Buddha's field and the two form bodies, and the deeds and activities, etc., must also be accepted as not appearing and not being seen to the Buddha. Furthermore, it must be accepted that only self-appearance appears to the Buddha, and no other appearance appears, is seen, or is known. Furthermore, knowing what is and is not the case, etc., will also become knowing without an object of appearance. Then, if the impure appears to the Buddha, will there be a delusional appearance? The Buddha, with the wisdom that sees all knowable things, sees without obstruction what appears in the delusional appearance of sentient beings, how they are deluded, and the methods to eliminate them. This is not delusion.

Now, it is with the eye of wisdom that sees all, through the eye attained by diligent practice, that one sees and manifests, and not from illusion that it appears. The way in which the Buddha knows knowable things is that the Dharmadhatu and wisdom are inseparable, and the Dharmadhatu is inseparable from all dharmata. However, dharmata has various differences, such as a mirror having no image yet being able to reflect. Just as in inseparability, arising and ceasing etc. are different, like the object dharmata all knowable things, and the object-possessor Dharmadhatu and wisdom being inseparable, though the two are not different, the Dharmadhatu pervades all dharmata and wisdom knows all knowable things. For example, at the time of sentient beings, though the abiding nature of appearance and mind is not different, the way of appearance is different. Thinking thus, when some conversation arose from this very way, it was written by Vajrashara. Submitted as a reply to Miwang Sangye Gyatso. Submitted as a reply to Miwang Sangye Gyatso. Generally, if one considers virtue in terms of inferior and superior, all virtues that are grasped by the wisdom of non-conceptualization of the three spheres are in any case uncontaminated or transcendent virtues. Virtues that are not grasped by it, however they may appear, are called contaminated or mundane virtues. As it says in the Mother Sutra: "Giving exists in the mundane, and it also exists in the transcendent." Among them: What is mundane giving? If, by giving, one does not surpass or transcend the world, it is called mundane giving. If, by giving, one leaves, surpasses, and transcends the world, it is called transcendent giving. Etc. Therefore, such virtues grasped by the wisdom of non-conceptualization of the three spheres, and the virtues corresponding to liberation, even Dzogchen should accept as the activity of the session break. In particular, when placing it on the profound meaning of meditative equipoise, both good and bad thoughts are obstacles to the meaning of freedom from elaboration, so it is said that they should be abandoned. As it says in the Nyingtik Yabzhi, one of the Seventeen Tantras of Dzogchen: "Do not do what is to be done, abandon what is done. Do not practice, do not recite mantras. Do not contemplate the Dharma, abandon mindfulness. Abandon the thoughts in the mind, only self-appearance exists."
