Sins accomplished by intention, if not prevented by antidotes within one-sixth of the day and night, are interrupted by time; practicing with undistorted intention, being satisfied with it, there is no regret; the amount of confession exceeds its own time limit. Thus, if one practices the seven branches completely, it is extremely heavy due to abandoning the mantra vows, and because the opposing forces have destroyed the antidotes, it is called a defeat. Furthermore, if any root or branch downfall arises in conjunction with antidotes, the essence is incomplete and unconfessed, and if the time limit has passed, it is called a downfall, which is heavier than a defeat, like the remaining Sangha of individual liberation. Similarly, if the fault gradually decreases, it is connected in this way. Those who belong to the category of defeats and lack limbs are afflicted and are gross. All other downfalls of the limbs are committing downfalls, and the minor faults of the conforming side are similar to misdeeds. If one is angry with a Vajra brother or sister with the intention of benefiting them, it is like an image of a downfall, but in reality there is no downfall. Thus, in the condensed biography of the master Padmasambhava, it is said: All accomplishments are based on, the root and its branches. The root that has passed its time is like a defeat. It is said to be a downfall with measure. The main branch that has passed its time, is said to be heavy. The application is not complete, it is gross. The subtle branch is a misdeed. The subtle of the subtle is one mandala. So it is. Thirdly, sickness and loss of power, other actions, great meaning, non-arising, steadfastness, necessity, attainment of ability, permission, command, interruption, there is no fault, as stated in the Ornament of Essence. That is to say, in all of these, one's own sickness, and loss of power means loss of autonomy or loss of power from having obtained it, and other actions that occur for a greater purpose, or turning to the benefit of others, or seeing great meaning, and the steadfastness of the meaning of non-arising, and having the necessity of benefiting others, and obtaining the ability of realization and habituation, and obtaining permission from a special place, such as a higher deity, and command, that is, the words of the lama, and the occurrence of life-threatening obstacles, in these situations, it is taught that there is no fault. As the Ornament of Essence says: Sickness and loss of power and actions, for the sake of others and great meaning, non-arising, steadfastness, necessity, attainment of ability and permission, and command and interruption.

Know that there is no fault. Thus it is. Fourth, in this way, six times in each session of day and night, diligently examine the places of vows to be abandoned and adopted. If one-sixth has passed, it is called the session has passed. One day, one month, one year, two years have passed, and are called violation, degeneration, passing, and breakage. If these are confessed from the heart, they can be restored, otherwise the consequences are serious. If three years have passed, it cannot be restored. Thus, for each one-sixth session of the day and night, carefully examine whether the places of vows to be abandoned and adopted have been violated or not. If the antidote is not applied within one-sixth of the day and night, it is called the session has passed. If it is not remedied within one day, it is a violation. If it is not remedied within a month, it is degeneration. If it is not remedied within one year, it has passed. If it is not remedied within two or three years, it is called breakage, and the fault becomes more serious with the passage of time. If one confesses with great effort from the heart before that, it can be restored. If more than three years have passed, it cannot be restored. As it is said in the tantra of the Vow Chapter: In general, for the difference of vows, it is necessary to distinguish the difference of time. Whatever fault is committed by violating the vow, if it is confessed to the deity in mind within one day, it can be restored. Degeneration means that it is not remedied within a month, and it is confessed with strong regret. Passing the vow means that it is not remedied within a year, and it is remedied through confession. For two or three years, the vow is called breakage, and if it is very strong, it can be restored. If more than three years have passed, it cannot be restored from then on. If one continues to take it, both will be burned. One must definitely experience the suffering of hell, and one can only endure it continuously. Thus it is. Furthermore, according to the essence, one should know the severity of the degeneration of the root and branch vows, and according to time, one should know the severity of confession for passing of sessions, violation, degeneration, etc. Incidentally, the General Sutra says: Lord of Lanka, from this, what is degeneration? There are five kinds: complete degeneration, root degeneration, branch degeneration, as well as monthly degeneration and incidental degeneration. Among them, complete degeneration refers to acting with very strong greed in a very dangerous place, or many times, or when the time has passed, breakage, etc. Monthly degeneration refers to the fault associated with degeneration. Incidental degeneration refers to the fault of excessively catering to others. Fifth, the actual method of remedy
