Furthermore, it is said that in the place of Oddiyana (Tibetan: ཨོ་རྒྱན་), liberation is attained by empowering the nagas. In addition, those Arhats of the Hearers and Solitary Realizers who enter into nirvana without remainder must also abandon the aggregates of life and enter the vehicle of mantra through the mind-made body. Sixth, regarding the method of restoring what has been broken, there are two aspects: the teaching and the explanation. The brief explanation is: Finally, the method of restoring what has been broken is explained. This means that the root and branch vows should be kept unbroken. If they are broken, one must strive to restore them, so the method is explained. Second, the detailed explanation is divided into two: the method of rectification and the fault of not doing so. The first is further divided into five points: the cause of falling and its antidote, the degree of severity of the fall, the cause of not falling, the extent of confession, the distinction between whether the past can be restored or not, and the actual method of rectification. The first point is: Not knowing the limits of falling, disrespecting the lama, etc., acting carelessly and having many afflictions, these four are considered the four doors through which falling occurs. As an antidote to these, one should learn what should be learned, respect everyone, constantly rely on mindfulness and awareness, and strive to learn the antidote to the most intense affliction. On top of the four that should be abandoned, adding forgetfulness and unclear memory, these are called the six causes of breaking vows. This is clearly stated in the glorious Vow Tantra. As it says in the Compendium of Vinaya: The causes of falling are also four: not knowing, carelessness, many afflictions, and disrespect. Thus, wanting to learn the vows, but not knowing the limits of what to take and abandon in each fall; even knowing, not respecting the lama and the places of learning that he teaches, therefore not doing it; generally respecting, but not seeing the faults or not having mindfulness and awareness, acting without caution; even if there is some caution, the mind is overwhelmed by the three poisons, and afflictions increase. The four doors through which falling arises, plus forgetfulness and unclear memory, make six. As it says in the Dakini Vow Tantra: Not knowing and carelessness, many afflictions and disrespect, forgetfulness and unclear memory, these six are the causes of breaking vows. So, how to rely on these antidotes? To counteract not knowing the characteristics of falling, one should learn well what should be learned,

Protecting by knowing what to adopt and abandon, and with joy in the benefits as an antidote to disrespect, thereby generating respect for the lama and all the teachings he imparts, and protecting them. As an antidote to carelessness, like being cautious in a place where the enemy is very dangerous, guarding with a mind that fears wrongdoing. And protecting by generating inner and outer antidotes to whatever disturbing emotions arise. As an antidote to forgetfulness, not forgetting the boundaries of what is permitted and forbidden, keeping mindfulness in mind day and night, and practicing confession and restraint. And as an antidote to unclear mindfulness, establishing the watch of discriminating awareness that engages in adoption and abandonment by examining whether or not one has transgressed the samaya. Furthermore, if one breaks the vows, thinking, "I am bad," and thus relying on oneself, feeling ashamed and knowing embarrassment. If one breaks the vows, thinking, "Others will be ashamed and I will become an object of scorn," and thus relying on others, generating a sense of shame, and so forth, striving to protect in these ways. As it is said in the *Vinayasamuccaya*: "If you desire supreme accomplishment, it is easy to give up your life. It is easy even when the time of death arrives. But always protect the samaya." Therefore, it is said. Secondly, for everything, is the object, thought, and action ultimate? Know where the disturbing emotions that arise contradict. Actions done by body and speech that are truly obstructive. Undeluded conduct and unrepentant confession exceeding the limit. It is called defeat. If the reality is incomplete, it is called a downfall when the session has passed, like the remainder. If it diminishes in stages, it is a gross transgression, and know that an offense is a reflection of a downfall. That is to say, all downfalls have four or seven branches. That is, the object in which the downfall occurs, and the thought of recognizing it as that object, and the action of engaging in something like anger towards a sibling, and the ultimate completion of the path of action accomplished by the three doors, these are the four branches. Or, the motivation aroused by intense disturbing emotions, and knowing that the object upon which one relies contradicts the samaya, and the fifth of the fourteen root downfalls, such as abandoning a special *kunda*, completing that action by relying on the help of bodily action, and the seventh, such as divulging secrets, speaking with the help of verbal action, and if the other person understands it, then the reality is established, becoming a root downfall, and the ninth, and so on.
