The root is the vows, and among them, protecting the guru and fellow practitioners is the basis for accomplishing benefits and eliminating harm. The main thing is the body, so it is the body vow; not cutting off the continuity of mantra mudras belongs to the limb of recitation, mainly in speech, so it is summarized as speech, and both the tantras and sadhana sections agree. The illusionist does not speak of the ten secrets, although it is speech, but what is secret is abiding in the mind, so it is mainly the dharma of the mind, so it can also be summarized as mind. But in the Peaceful Tantra of the Gathering of Bliss, it says, "These things to be kept secret are also the vows of body, speech, and mind." Thus, it is said to include all three. It also says, "Meditating on the three bodhicittas is the vajra mind vow." Thus, it is said to summarize bodhicitta as mind. Therefore, here it is better to summarize both bodhicitta and not speaking secrets as the mind vow, because it is the time to summarize the three root vows. Moreover, in the Clear Light it says, "Two bodhicittas, six acharyas, four fellow practitioners, three mantras, four mudras, ten secrets, know them as the root." Like this. First, the object of the body vow is twofold. In the Peaceful Tantra it says, "Transmitting the lineage, bestowing empowerment, showing that very nature, being a friend together with the guru, respecting with body, speech, and mind, is the vajra body vow." Like this. Among them, respecting the guru, from the difference of the object, in general, is the ordinary guru who is regarded as sacred by everyone and has received kindness, such as the abbot of monastic vows, the guru who introduces the dharma, the vow empowerment guru who gives vows and empowerment, the guru who makes up for broken vows who becomes the object of confessing sins, the guru who explains knowledge like the guru who teaches the scriptures, and the guru who shows profound instructions, such as the guru of oral transmission, etc., are six kinds. In the Clear Light it says, "Ordinary and guiding, vow empowerment, making up for broken vows and explaining knowledge, the gurus of oral transmission." The examples of how to respect these six gurus are also in order, such as "Looking at the king who has power over the country, the uncle, father, mother, and eyes, in a way that is more beloved than the heart." Like this. In particular, as said in the Peaceful Tantra, the three gurus of empowerment, explaining the tantra, and receiving oral instructions should be regarded as superior to the Buddha or

Or, to honor in any way that pleases you and fulfills your commands with the three doors, without pretense, in any way of viewing the four jewels. Secondly, to be loving towards spiritual friends: As previously stated, there are four types of spiritual friends: common, personal, close, and mixed. Among these, the latter three who have entered the correct path, and especially the mixed ones, should be cherished and cared for with altruistic intention, without separation and with mutual assistance, in order of importance. As it says in 'Fierce Lightning': 'Also have compassion for Vajra siblings, all siblings, mixed and unmixed. Even a small thought with gifts for those who have entered the correct path, should always be abandoned. Exert the strength of love and care, look at each other like eyes. In short, without attachment even to life, fulfill the needs of brothers and sisters. Why are Vajra brothers and sisters, from now until enlightenment, the supreme companions who never separate? Like fire and light, tree and branches.' Secondly, the vow of speech: As it says in the Peaceful Tantra: 'The mantra and mudra of one's own chosen deity, the supreme guru, should be well mastered, and should never be interrupted at any time. This is the Vajra vow of speech.' And as it says in 'Clear Illumination': 'The root generation and activity mantra, the vow activity and dharma, the body itself, the four great mudras.' Therefore, with great effort, like a river, or in the sessions of day and night, diligently practice the three objects, mantra, and the four mudras. The intermediate practitioner should practice six or four times a month. Even the lowest practitioner should not interrupt the annual offerings. As it says in that same text: 'Manifestly merge your own three doors into the body, speech, and mind of the chosen deity, and constantly recite, which is entering the Bodhi Dharani. The best practitioner recites naturally like a river, or three days and three nights, two or one, without distraction. The intermediate practitioner does not interrupt six times a month, or between four times. The lowest diligent yogi, if he does not make effort every month or half-month, destroys the seed of Bodhi. The Tsok and Torma offerings are the same, do not even let a year or month pass.' So it says. Thirdly, the vow of mind has two parts: The vow not to abandon the unsurpassed mind of Bodhi.
