To claim and boast to be a Vajra holder is the seventh. To desire and seek after individuals who are not suitable vessels, and to explain profound meanings at the wrong time in the context of assembly discourses, is the eighth. As the teacher Hero said, "I will explain the branch offenses that utterly steal away bliss. To delight in relying on a consort who does not possess vows is the first of the branch offenses," and so on. The second is: Engaging in empowerment and supreme activities without having practiced approach, etc.; showing bodily mudras to those who are devoted to external dharmas; and unnecessarily transgressing the precepts of the two vows. This means giving empowerment to disciples without having done approach and accomplishment, and engaging in activities such as consecration and fire offerings with conceptual thought and entering through application; showing bodily mudras unnecessarily to individuals who are devoted to external dharmas, even though they are not of a lineage that fears the profound; and for a mantra practitioner who has obtained the lower Pratimoksha vows and the Bodhisattva vows, transgressing those and those precepts, such as eating afternoon food, without any special need for gathering circles and fire offerings, etc. Although there appear to be many different identifications and orders of these coarse offenses, the eight coarse offenses collected in this text are in accordance with the intentions of Fearless Hero and Ocean of Vows, etc. In the "Dispelling Errors" of Jetsun Rinpoche, the three just mentioned are made the eighth, seventh, and ninth coarse offenses, respectively. Therefore, the nature and order of the intention of "Dispelling Errors" is as follows: As it is said, "What is called a branch vow is delighting in relying on a consort who does not possess vows, arguing in the circle of assembly, and teaching secret dharma, teaching other dharma to sentient beings who have faith, claiming to be a Shravaka, staying inside for seven days, not having made a definite union, teaching secrets to an unsuitable vessel, and showing bodily mudras to those who are not skilled in mudras, and engaging in mandala activities without having purified approach, etc., and transgressing the precepts of the two vows without need, etc." Third, the meaning of summarizing is: Although there are many transgressions of coarse offenses such as these, the Kalachakra says that the fault is small.

Although there are many transgressions whose number is not definitely one, and faults such as deficiencies in any of the limbs, it is said that the offenses are minor, so here, remain neutral. As it says in the Great Commentary on the Kalachakra: 'The gross transgressions are many, but the punishment for them will become very small.' This is certain. Because it was said so.

It is said. To classify them, it is said in the Peaceful Tantra of the Bliss Gathering: Listen, all you assembled retinues! Whoever enters this mandala, should protect and restrain, and grasp them with the distinctions of common, special, and supreme. Therefore, there are three vows: common, special, and supreme. The first is: all the vows that are commonly known as the protective boundaries of the vows of individual liberation, bodhisattva, and outer tantras. Among them, it says: Individual liberation and bodhicitta, the tantras of action, performance, yoga, etc., whatever is said to be protected, are the common vows. Thus. The second is: the root vows of body, speech, and mind vajra, and the five sets of branches, totaling twenty-five. In the General Sutra, it says: Body, speech, mind, and vajra, protecting, enjoying, pleasing, not abandoning, knowing, practicing, etc., the twenty-eight mentioned, will be explained in the detailed explanation of the meaning of the text, from which they can be understood. The third is: In the Peaceful Tantra, it says: The supreme vows of the meaning of the text, should be protected with utmost supremacy. Do not destroy the throne of the king of beasts, do not put poison in the zamatog, do not cut off precious tender branches, do not drink molten liquids, do not open the stamens of the lotus, do not pour essence into leaky vessels, do not rely on meaningless substances, do not bury glass eggs in the mud, do not put pure things in impure vessels, do not cut off wish-fulfilling jewels, do not separate the wings of the great garuda, do not strike with weapons of meteoric iron, do not consume the leftovers of the play of beasts, do not destroy vajra cliffs, do not break the boundaries of the fence, do not extinguish lamps with wind, avoid cutting off the stream of wisdom, do not conceal the command seals and hand seals, do not overturn the vajra diamond fortress, do not lower the jewel on the crown of the head. These are to be protected, they are the vows of special cherishment. Thus, the yogi who abides in the common and special vows, especially proclaims the twenty vows to be protected during the occasions of practice, etc., which are explained with the term of hidden meaning. In order, it is not harming the body of the vajra master and not disobeying the commands, not enjoying the consort of the lama, not breaking the sangha of the faithful, not defiling the property of the Three Jewels and the wise, not drinking intoxicating alcohol, and not to the consort of the vajra brother.
