If measured, it is the eleventh root downfall. It means that, regarding the ultimate truth that is free from all characteristics such as names, and the method to realize it, the non-conceptual path, if one doubts and, with discriminating consciousness other than one's own self-awareness, imputes something as either existent or non-existent, thus discriminating and clinging, it is the eleventh root downfall. As it says in the *Gur*: The nature of reality cannot be measured. Shantipa also said: The Dharma should not be measured by measurement. The twelfth is: Not benefiting sentient beings who possess the three faiths, not protecting their minds, and deceiving them is the twelfth. It means that, for sentient beings who possess the three faiths of joy, desire, and trust in the qualities of the lama and the Three Jewels, who desire the Dharma and are worthy of giving, not giving to them, or not doing what one is capable of doing, or not protecting what is contrary to their minds, but instead showing rational behavior of disbelief, speaking of the faults of attachment and aversion, or deceiving them with deceit, in short, if their minds are displeased and their faith and aspirations are lost, it is the twelfth root downfall. The thirteenth is: The appropriate implements, enjoyments, and samaya substances, even if related to time, not partaking in them is the thirteenth. It means that, during the time of mantra practice, whether it is a tsokhor or a feast of heroes and heroines, whatever should be partaken at that time, the samaya substances, such as the implements held like vajra and bell, clothes and ornaments, and the enjoyments of food and drink such as the inner and outer five meats, five amritas, and alcohol, and the practices such as dance, song, lyrics, and consorts, even if related to time, one doubts because of clinging to the asceticism of the Shravakas, or does not partake in and abandons them with the thought of impurity and faults, it is the thirteenth root downfall. The fourteenth is: Regarding the general and the particular, the unwise, face to face or in secret, being content in heart and disparaging, if heard, is the fourteenth. It means that, whether the object is one or more women, from the perspective of lineage desire it is general, and if it is the time to engage in particular actions, regarding the women who will surely become one's reliance, those women who possess the nature of wisdom and Dharma origin, whether face to face or in secret, from the depths of one's heart, being content and insulting and speaking defamatory words, if heard by others, it is the fourteenth root downfall. Here, the object women refer to those who are not holders of the supreme yoga vows.

This is because a woman who possesses mantra vows cannot transgress her own guru or spiritual brother, and therefore commits the first and third root downfalls. Fourth, regarding the branch coarse transgressions, there are three parts: summary, explanation, and conclusion. The summary is: Now, I will explain the branch coarse transgressions. Here, there are definition, meaning, and classification. First, the definition is: Any fault that is contrary to the vows of highest yoga tantra, which, if committed, harms the branch of the vows. Second, the meaning is: Because it corresponds to the fourteen root vows, it is called a branch; although it is not a defeat that abandons the vows, it is called coarse because it hinders the swift accomplishment of siddhis. It is like a tree whose branches are broken, causing the trunk to weaken and not regrow. Third, the classification is: Among the eight coarse transgressions, the first three are branches that ripen one's own continuum, and the latter five are branches that ripen the continuum of others. Second, the detailed explanation is divided into: explaining the eight coarse transgressions and elaborating on other ways of explaining the categories. First, (verse) Not relying on a consort when the empowerment and vows are not mature; quarreling with body and speech during the time of the tsok khorlo; taking amrita by one's own power from a consort who is not spoken of; not showing secret mantras to a worthy disciple; showing other dharmas to a faithful person who asks for dharma; staying among Shravakas for seven days; boasting of being a mantra practitioner without yogic wisdom; explaining to an unworthy vessel, these are the eight branch downfalls. (Explanation) Merely relying on a consort without maturing the continuum through empowerment and without vows is the first. In the assembly of the tsok khorlo, without malice towards the guru or vajra brother, merely arguing and fighting with body and speech is the second. Taking amrita from an ordinary consort who does not possess the characteristics mentioned in the tantras, for the sake of pills or pleasure, not according to the ritual, but by one's own power, is the third. Being stingy and not showing the dharma of secret mantras to a worthy disciple who truly seeks benefit is the fourth. When a faithful person seeks dharma, not showing that dharma, but showing other dharmas, is the fifth. Staying among true Shravakas or logicians who denigrate the view and practice of mantra for seven days is the sixth. Without possessing the true wisdom of mantra yoga, one boasts of being a
