To that. From the great wisdom samadhi, drink and constantly drink. This is said to be the vow of the mudra. Thus it is said. These are also said in the Kalachakra, in the Vajra family, one must commit killing, and even the sword speaks untrue words. In the Ratna family, one should steal the wealth of others, and in the supreme Padma family, one should steal the wives of others. Wine and lamps, as well as all the Buddhas and virtuous realms, should all rely on the wheel. All women, including young girls, should not despise the lotus of the dakini even with a curved knife. For the sake of sentient beings, this body, including wealth, should be given away, and you should not protect it. Thus, it is said by distinguishing between definitive and provisional meanings. Here, for the curved knife family, the definitive meaning is that one should not despise women and should abandon oneself, and its provisional meaning is that one should abide in the undefiled brahmacharya. Apart from that, the other five have roughly the same meaning. Thus, the order of those vows and precepts is also that first, twenty-five practices are taught, of which the first four of the five groups are mainly harmful to sentient beings, and the fifth, the attachment of the senses to objects, is also the cause of the arising of afflictions. Therefore, the external characteristics and the internal Kriya Yoga three sections must also be abandoned in meaning. After that, the common vows of the five families are taught, and their literal meaning, as stated externally, is in accordance with the tenets of the Yoga Tantra. After that, the special vows of the five families are taught, and both the definitive and provisional explanations are the characteristics of the unsurpassed secret Vajrayana. Therefore, it should be known that teaching and practicing in a way that does not lose the order of guiding disciples is the custom of Anuttarayoga. Third, regarding the fourteen root downfalls, there are two parts: teaching and explanation. The brief teaching is: The fourteen root downfalls are taught. That is to say, it generally has a common nature. The nature of the downfall, the meaning of the words, the differences in the branches, the certainty of the number, the order, and the confirmation of the root downfalls corresponding to each of the four empowerments, there are six points in total. The first point is: Among the three, body, speech, and mind, the mind is the most important, because the sutras say that non-virtue is not a colored object, so it is not a son of Shakya. However, there are also downfalls that require body and speech as assistants, so there are three doors.

It is called "That which is to be protected." In the Thuk Thik, it says: "All who enter the secret door, for the protection of their own three doors, like the king's decree, inseparable, that is the essence of the vow." Its definition is: Any fault that is contrary to the vows of unsurpassed mantra, if practiced, will fundamentally cause one to fall, belonging to the category of the cause of downfall. Secondly, from the sound of "mūla patti," the term "root downfall" is like the root of a tree, if it is firm, the branches and leaves will flourish, and if it is pulled out, everything will wither. Similarly, if it is protected, it is the root that generates all the qualities of the path and the fruit, and if it is not protected, it will fall into the lower realms, becoming the very root of suffering. As it says in the Khokzhung Gsaldrön: "The determination of meaning changes according to circumstances of good and bad." Thirdly, there are five branches: the basis, the object, the cause, the time, and the intention. First, it must be a person who possesses the mantra vows and whose awareness abides in its own nature. Because if one does not possess the vows, it is only a natural transgression and will not generate a prohibited transgression. If mindfulness is lost, it will not generate a downfall, as all vehicles agree in their intention. Secondly, it is the object upon which the fourteen root downfalls depend, just as the object of the first root downfall is the noble lama. Thirdly, there are the four doors or six causes that give rise to downfall, which will be explained in the sixth root section. Fourthly, if any of the four root downfalls are practiced with complete branches, those that become root downfalls in the mind alone must be remedied by an antidote within a single session, those related to speech must be understood by any other person, and those related to the body become root downfalls once the action is completed. Once one root downfall related to any of the three doors has occurred, even if another is committed later, it will not become a second root downfall, but it will become a branch of increasing the severity of the offense. Fifthly, for each object of downfall, one must recognize it as such without confusion. Fourthly, there are fourteen root downfalls, no more and no less. Fifthly, it is abandoning the lama, who is the root of mantra accomplishment, as well as the teachings based on him, and spiritual friends who practice the Dharma, etc.
