Shinbhaga and the four mandalas of relative and ultimate Bodhicitta. That is, in the term mandala, 'manda' (maṇḍa) means essence or quintessence, and 'la' (la) means holding or taking. Because it holds and takes the basis of the qualities of essence, it is called a mandala. There are four types of mandalas combined with the measure of the tantras, and among them, the mandala that is suitable for maturing most people nowadays. The first includes the mandala of intrinsic wisdom, the image of special samadhi or the emanation mandala, the mandala of awareness experience, and the mandala of special image. The first three are, in order, the teacher who has attained complete Buddhahood, the one on the final path, and the one who abides in seeing and meditation. It is said in the Magical Vajra that it is the mandala for empowerment for disciples who are bodhisattvas on the ground, those who have perfected the qualities of seeing, meditation, and accumulation, and it is the realm of activity for the noble ones. Among these, the emanation mandala is called the image of special samadhi, which is the self-language of the illusionist. In the Vajra Sequence, it says: 'The teacher abides on the path near the end, forty-two or three rays of light radiate, the mandala of a thousand Buddhas, etc., with just the measure of the Vajra's lines, signs such as distant sounds, the mandala with clear hand gestures, is the image of special samadhi.' Therefore, the fourth is that a qualified teacher who has only attained a stable conformity to samadhi empowers fortunate disciples into the mandala of special image. Among these, according to the differences of those to be tamed, for those of inferior capacity, powder; for those of medium capacity, painting; for those of superior capacity, piling up, etc., can be empowered by relying on a slight object of focus. As it says in the root text of the empowerment ritual of the Gathering of the Eight Commands: 'In which mandala is empowerment given? The superior, medium, and inferior are spoken of, flowers, paintings, and powder, empowerment is given in the three mandalas.' Furthermore, some intelligent and fortunate individuals can enter the teacher's body mandala from the beginning. For a wise person who understands the body mandala as a mandala, there is no need to rely on an external mandala.

Therefore, as the teacher Drilbupa also said, "Whatever mandala of two fabrications, that is desired according to the power of those to be tamed, it is not what the wise accomplish." The object to be accomplished by such a wise person is, as it says, "All these beings are naturally, the non-dual mandala of accomplishment." Because it is said, and also at the time of throwing the Dongtruk flower, it is said, "In the mandala of the teacher's body." So it is. Also, in general, due to the difference of individuals, depending on the two places of dependence, it becomes two ways of entering. Depending on the way of awakening the conditions, there is the possibility of entering from the beginning for those who have faith in it, and after entering, meditating on the path that is in accordance with it. Depending on the way of maturing the continuum, all individuals are gradual. Also, it is not necessary to accumulate only in this life. However, here, for the individuals who enter gradually with inferior capacity, making the intention to mature those whose continuum has not matured before, therefore, the practice of the venerable lamas of the present is to empower in any of the sand mandala or painted cloth mandala. Among them, the source for being able to perform the maturing empowerment in painted cloth is, from the Anuttarayoga Tantra of the Immovable One: "Or the mandala to be drawn, should be drawn in the manner of painted cloth, having drawn the mandala as before, in the center draw the immovable dark blue." And so on, having explained the mandala of painted cloth, because the ritual of empowering the disciple is extensively explained in connection with it, and also the teacher Jaya Sena said, "If one cannot draw a sand mandala, then on the cloth together with the mandala, one should definitely draw the Bhagavan Heruka, together with the form of the hand seal." So it is. Secondly, in terms of the present meaning, the mandala that can mature most of the individuals nowadays is, depending on the four empowerments, there are four mandalas of cause and support: for the vase empowerment, the external excess is the image mandala, the sand painting or, the watercolor painted cloth mandala included in its category. For the three supreme empowerments, in general, the mandala of the inner body channels of the suchness of oneself, in particular, for the secret empowerment, the mandala of the letters Bhaga of the suchness of mantra, for the wisdom empowerment, the mandala of the conventional bodhicitta of the suchness of the deity, the fourth empowerment is the meaning of the suchness of wisdom.
