The arising of Bodhicitta, and so on. Like the Bodhicitta that becomes the nature of the subsequent attainment of the noble Bodhisattvas. There are five types: the power of virtuous friends, the power of awakening the lineage, the power of increasing roots of virtue, the power of hearing the Great Vehicle's collections, and the power of generating through familiarity with much hearing. The first, relying on friends, is an unstable Bodhicitta. The latter four are difficult to be harmed by opposing factors, thus are stable Bodhicitta. As stated in the Ornament of the Sutras: "The power of friends, the power of causes, the power of roots, the power of hearing, the power of virtuous habituation. Unstable and stable arise, explained as Bodhicitta shown by others." As it is said, there are four ways to take the conventional Bodhicitta, which mainly arises from the power of others: the teacher from whom it is taken, the ritual by which it is taken, the exception that it can be taken from a support, and the determination of the boundary of obtaining the vows. First: "In the vows, abide in a virtuous friend." This means that in accordance with both traditions, the object of taking the vows must abide in the Bodhisattva vows, and take them from a virtuous friend who is qualified to guide the ritual and discipline of bestowing them. As it is said in the Engaging in Bodhisattva Behavior: "Always a virtuous friend, skilled in the meaning of the Great Vehicle, the supreme conduct of a Bodhisattva, will not abandon even for the sake of life." And in the Twenty Vows: "The Lama abides in the vows and is skilled, one should take from one who is capable." So it is. Although Jangchub Zangpo said that it is sufficient to have a Lama or not when taking the vows, it is necessary to have a Lama to restore them later. However, Zhiwa Tsho considered both taking and restoring the vows, which is better. Second, there are two traditions: Nagarjuna and Asanga. In the first, there are the person who takes the vows and the ritual of how to take them. First: "A disciple with faith who has become a vessel of the Great Vehicle." This means that in the tradition of Nagarjuna, if one understands the symbolic meaning and wants to take the vows, it is not necessarily the case that one must have a body of leisure and endowment. Because all sentient beings who are able to genuinely generate the thought of seeking perfect enlightenment are considered to be vessels of the Great Vehicle's Bodhicitta. Second, the seven limbs are completed, and aspiration and engagement are taken simultaneously, contemplating joy for oneself and others.
