Having obtained a portion of purity, the merits of the path of seeing increase a thousandfold and more. In these, one generally cultivates the Noble Eightfold Path, and specifically, one mainly practices the ten perfections from discipline to wisdom. Thus, having completed the path of learning through three countless eons, one makes the two obscurations and their habitual tendencies into the nature of non-arising. Because there is no need to apply antidotes to them, one goes to the path of no-more-learning and attains unsurpassed enlightenment. As it is said in "Mind at Rest": "Thus, the thirty-seven factors of enlightenment, after cultivating the four paths of learning, one does not abide in the ground of no-more-learning and enters nirvana." Here, for those of sharp faculties, the three countless eons are also said to accumulate the collections of many eons in each moment because the power of mind is extremely great. Therefore, not only is it not necessary to accumulate as many as the number, but after obtaining the path of seeing, because one has obtained autonomy, one is able to liberate at will. As it is said in the Intermediate Mother: "The great bodhisattva who has obtained the pure eye of the Dharma for all phenomena, if he wishes, can also manifest complete and perfect enlightenment in seven days." These are also as it is said in the Jewel Heap Sutra: "By generating the mind of great desire, one is liberated from samsara by thirty-three countless eons. By generating the mind of supreme wisdom, one is completed by seven countless eons. By generating the mind of incomparable mind, one manifests complete enlightenment by three countless eons. Why is that? Because the power of mind is small, medium, and great. These can be exemplified as a wheel-turning king, a boatman, and a protector." Having finished speaking in this way, the summary of the chapter is: the precepts of the bodhisattva's generation of the mind, divided into the order of explanation, is the third. That is to say, this treatise has five chapters, among which, according to the practice of the Great Vehicle Paramita and the common teachings, the precepts of the bodhisattva's generation of the mind, according to the lineage of the two traditions, is the explanation of the third chapter. Here it is said: From the pure ocean free from the turmoil of misdeeds emerges.
