Just as the sun's orb becomes clear when clouds dissipate, in the state of Samadhi, the wisdom free from concepts, in which nothing can be identified, naturally and vividly abides. This is the awareness from within the self-luminous wisdom of the mind's nature. As it is said in the Bodhisattvacharyavatara: "When neither real nor unreal, Abides before the mind, Then, because there is no other way, It is utterly pacified, without an object." Thus, when one gains certainty about the essential meaning through meditation, a genuine courage arises, without artificiality, from a great force of compassion for all sentient beings who have not realized their own inherent wisdom, to lead them to the state of unsurpassed enlightenment. And naturally, one will enter into the practice of non-conceptual Samadhi, thus causing the profound connection of cause and effect to turn like a wheel. In short, in Samadhi, one meditates on non-conceptual wisdom, and having arisen from that, in the post-meditation state, one views all appearances as illusory and without inherent existence. One dedicates the merit for the benefit of sentient beings who are like illusions. Thus, all six perfections are embraced by the preliminary Bodhicitta, the main practice is embraced by the wisdom of non-conceptualization of the three spheres, and the subsequent practice is embraced by the dedication of virtue to perfect enlightenment. Having completed the three, preliminary, main, and subsequent, one will cross to the other shore of Samsara and Nirvana. Third, regarding the discipline of benefiting sentient beings, there is the discipline of benefiting beings itself, and the explanation of the practices related to all three disciplines. First, there is a summary, which is: The discipline of benefiting sentient beings includes four ways of gathering. That is, by accumulating virtue and accumulating Dharma, one matures one's own mindstream, and in order to mature the mindstreams of others, one engages in the four ways of gathering. Second is the detailed explanation: First, gather disciples through generosity, then guide their minds with pleasant speech, leading them into the nine vehicles in stages, this is the practice of benefiting others. In order to guide them, one must also practice these actions oneself. This includes four parts: definition, classification, fixed number, and ways of gathering. First, the definition: Any of the Bodhisattva's practices, in order to fully ripen sentient beings, skillfully using means, eagerly taking on the benefit of others, and having the intention to take responsibility.

These are the ones. The divisions are: generosity, kind speech, beneficial conduct, and consistency, four in total. The first is: in order to gather disciples who have not yet assembled in the retinue, one initially pleases them with material generosity. As it says in the Garland of Lotuses: "Invite them well with the fan of generosity." So it is said. The second is: having gathered in the retinue, one gradually guides their minds with pleasant speech, and then teaches the sacred Dharma, causing them to develop a desire and enthusiasm for pursuing its practice. As it says in the same text: "Greet them with words of kind speech." So it is said. The third is: just as one gradually nourishes a child with soft and coarse foods, since one Dharma alone cannot mature beings of different dispositions, one should allow disciples to practice Dharmas that suit their minds. The three inferior minds are the three of Hearers, Solitary Realizers, and Bodhisattvas; the three middling ones are the three of Action Tantra, Performance Tantra, and Yoga Tantra; the three superior ones are the three of Generation Stage, Completion Stage, and Great Perfection. Like this, one should be skilled in the means of accomplishing the benefit and happiness of sentient beings through direct and indirect means, such as guiding them to the nine vehicles according to the order of their minds. As Shantideva said: "One should not teach the supreme Dharma to the inferior, and one should not apply the inferior Dharma to those who have become vessels of the vast Dharma." So it is said. And in the previous text it says: "One should establish great plans for beneficial conduct." So it is said. The fourth is: in order to lead those sentient beings to the sacred Dharma and virtuous conduct, one must also learn to be consistent with that conduct oneself. Because if one has not accomplished it oneself, then just as a leper teaches the practice of the Garuda bird, even if one teaches others the precepts of what to adopt and abandon, they will not listen. As it says in the same text: "Subdue them with consistency." So it is said. Third, the definite number: for the sake of temporarily benefiting disciples, there is material generosity, and for the sake of the cause of ultimate benefit, there is upholding the Dharma, and entering into its meaning, and for the sake of repeatedly following its meaning, the latter three, in total, are definitely four. As it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Through generosity, which is equal to showing, taking, and entering, and through self-following, it is considered to be kind speech, beneficial conduct, and consistency." And, "By the means of accomplishing benefit, and by upholding and entering, and likewise by following, the four objects of gathering are taught." So it is said. Again, the vessel of Dharma.
