Patience that does not fear the meaning of the profound Dharma, emptiness. Fourth is diligence. Initiate diligence in armor, accumulating merit, and benefiting others. This meaning has three aspects. The essence is: a joyful mind with four characteristics, which is the seed of virtue. The meaning of the word is: diligence from the Sanskrit word "vīrya," "vīra" meaning to completely suppress, from the etymological meaning, because of the unyielding spirit connected to the supreme state, therefore it is diligence. There are three types: Diligence with the intention of wearing great armor is: the cause of not being defeated by demons, thinking deeply from the heart, until all sentient beings are established in complete enlightenment, I will never abandon diligence. Diligence in putting actions into practice is: in order to perfect the five paths and ten grounds, with joy in obtaining the qualities of abandonment and realization, one engages in accumulating merit. After engaging, one should also strive with the courage not to fear practice, not being satisfied with slight merit, and not being moved by external conditions, with respectful and constant practice. As it is said in the scriptures: "Diligence is the basis for enlightenment, without diligence there is no enlightenment. Diligence gathers all virtues, diligence increases qualities." Joyful diligence in benefiting others is: the cause of accomplishing the two benefits, diligence with joy in benefiting sentient beings. Furthermore, as it is said in the "Guide to the Bodhisattva's Way of Life": "Clinging to bad laziness, and being discouraged and despising oneself." Thus, one should abandon the three opposing factors of diligence, laziness, and truly train in the diligence of effort. As it is said in the "Ornament of the Sutras": "The supreme Bodhisattva who carries the heavy burden of sentient beings on his head should not walk slowly. Since oneself and others are tightly bound by various bonds, one should make a hundredfold effort." Fifth is meditation. Meditate on worldly and transcendental meditation. This meaning has three aspects. The essence is: a virtuous mind with four characteristics, focused on the object of meditation, which is the seed of virtue. The meaning of the word is: meditation from the Sanskrit word "dhyāna (梵文天城体:ध्यान,梵文罗马拟音:dhyāna,汉语字面意思:禅那)," from the etymological meaning of "dhyai (梵文天城体:ध्यै,梵文罗马拟音:dhyai,汉语字面意思:禅)" meaning to think, the continuity of the mind does not wander elsewhere but holds on, therefore it is meditation. In terms of classification, worldly meditation is:
