词义是:戒律来自梵语śīla(梵文天城体:शील,梵文罗马音:śīla,汉语字面意思:戒),śīta(梵文天城体:शीत,梵文罗马音:śīta,汉语字面意思:清凉)是清凉,ḍu labhaṣa(梵文天城体:डुलभष,梵文罗马音:ḍu labhaṣa,汉语字面意思:获得)是从获得之根本意义出发,不被境的痛苦所侵扰,获得清凉,因此称为戒律。

Giving away difficult things is the greatest generosity. As it says in the same text: "With an impure mind of compassion, one should not give away this body, but one must give it away to accomplish great things for oneself and others." The gift of fearlessness is to protect and save as much as one can from the fears of temporary diseases, demons, thieves, wild animals, kings, etc., and ultimately from the fears of samsara and the lower realms. The gift of Dharma is to examine the vessel and, with great compassion, to bestow a feast of good words that is appropriate to the capacity of the disciples. As it says in the Sutra of Light Protection: "Those who give the Dharma with a pure and unadulterated mind are praised by the Buddhas." That is, the Bodhisattva householder mainly gives away material possessions, and the ordained mainly give away the Dharma. Giving away royal power, children, wives, heads, limbs, etc., is the practice of attaining patience with the unborn Dharma. As it says in the Mother Sutra: "When one perfects the perfection of generosity with skillful means, one takes the body of a wheel-turning king, etc., and enjoys the resources from me, gives generosity, and keeps the precepts." As it says, "If I have no attachment to the inner body, what need is there to mention the outer enjoyment?" Secondly, discipline is: Practice the three disciplines with a mind of renunciation. In this sense, it is divided into three points. The essence is: The mind of renunciation with four characteristics, and the seeds of virtue. The meaning of the word is: Discipline comes from the Sanskrit word śīla (शील, śīla, discipline), śīta (शीत, śīta, coolness) is coolness, and ḍu labhaṣa (डुलभष, ḍu labhaṣa, to obtain) comes from the root meaning of obtaining, not being disturbed by the suffering of the object, but obtaining coolness, therefore it is called discipline. In terms of classification, the Omniscient Great One said: "The discipline of restraint, the discipline of collecting virtues, and the discipline of benefiting sentient beings, the three disciplines are always protected by the sons of the Buddhas." Thus, it is divided into three types. The discipline of restraining wrongdoing is: In the Bodhisattva Bhumi, seven types of Pratimoksha vows are explained. On top of any of these vows, the mind of aspiration and practice is generated, and thus the discipline of restraining oneself from evil deeds. That is, whether or not one has previously taken the seven types of Pratimoksha vows, the negative aspect of the Bodhisattva vow, that is, the part of abandoning all actions that harm others as their basis, is the same as the Pratimoksha vow. In order to benefit others, one acts

The aspect of abandoning actions is the Bodhisattva vows. The discipline of accumulating merit is: In order to generate virtuous dharmas that have not arisen in one's own mind-stream, which are encompassed by the two accumulations and the six perfections, and to increase those that have already arisen, it is the intention to abandon non-virtuous dharmas from their root. The discipline of benefiting sentient beings is: With all thoughts and actions used for the benefit of sentient beings, accomplishing the benefit of others through skillful means, either directly or indirectly, it is the mind of abandoning that protects against what is contrary to this from its root. That is to say, if it turns into benefiting others, even if it seems to contradict one's own vows and the accumulation of vows, it is allowed to practice, like the captain Great Compassion and the Brahmin boy Star. Third, patience is: One must endure deep anger and suffering. This meaning has three aspects. The essence is: The unwavering mind with four characteristics, and the seeds of virtue. The meaning of the word is: Patience comes from the sound of ཀྵནྟི (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, kṣānti, patience). (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, kṣa,) is difficulty, and སྟེ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, ti,) also means patience. From the etymological point of view, it is called patience because it can endure suffering and so on. There are three types: The patience of accepting suffering is: For the sake of ultimate supreme bliss, one does not tire of temporary suffering, but accepts it through the asceticism of practicing Dharma, just as one undergoes treatment to remove the pain of illness. As it is said in the "Entering the Bodhisattva's Way": If a person to be killed has his hand cut off, is it not good if he can escape? If one can be freed from hell by the suffering of humans, why should one not take this suffering? And so on. The patience of not caring about the harm-doer is: When others inflict harm such as beating or scolding on oneself or what one likes, for example, like a small fire burning a large pile of grass, knowing the fault that one anger will exhaust the merits accumulated for thousands of kalpas, therefore not generating anger, not retaliating, and not holding grudges, one must be patient. As it is said in the same treatise: There is no sin like anger, there is no asceticism like patience, therefore one should diligently cultivate patience in various ways. Like this, one should apply oneself to enduring with the asceticism of patience through various methods. The patience of definite understanding of the Dharma is: With compassion, one does not tire of benefiting others, and with wisdom,
