Thus it was done, and "with retinue" refers to the restrictions of body and speech. If the three vows of Bhikshu, Shramanera, and Bhikshu ordination exist in the continuum of one person, how do they exist? According to the view that vows are corporeal, it is believed that in the continuum of a person who successively receives the three vows, they exist as different entities, as it is said in the Abhidharmakosha: "These different ones are not contradictory." According to the view that vows are knowledge, it is one entity with different negations. Because two similar types of consciousness do not arise as the retinue of one main consciousness, it is one entity. Since the cause of attainment, what is to be abandoned, and what is to be adopted are each determined separately, it is impossible for the three to have a common basis, therefore they are different negations. Third, regarding the method of obtaining what has not been obtained, there are two: teaching and explanation. First, a brief explanation: Initially, regarding the way to obtain vows that have not been obtained, there are two ways of receiving them: the completion with little effort is the previous ritual, and the completion with effort is the current ritual, which are determined as two ways of receiving them. Second, the detailed explanation is divided into two. First, the previous ritual: "Self-born wisdom comprehends faith, the teacher promises to come here with four requests, answering questions, promising heavy Dharma, etc., the disciple is intelligent and the abbot is a noble one." This means that the ritual that enables the disciple to attain full Bhikshu ordination without relying on the current ritual is the characteristic of the previous ritual. If differentiated, as it is said in the Abhidharmakosha commentary: "The Vaibhashikas and Vinaya masters say that full ordination is attained in ten ways." There are ten ways: perfect Buddhas and Pratyekabuddhas are self-born when they attain the Bodhi of knowing the extinction of birth, and the five good groups are those who comprehend wisdom when the path of seeing arises. These three are because a true Bhikshu naturally arises in their own continuum, so they attain full ordination. Shariputra and others attain it by "come here," Mahakashyapa attains it by promising to be the teacher, the sixty assemblies of the good group attain it by promising the three refuges, Gautami and others attain it by promising to abandon the eight heavy Dharmas, and Sudatta attains full ordination by being pleased with the answer to the question. These five are completed by the blessing of the teacher. The mother of offering, who belonged to the parents' jurisdiction, the Bhikshuni Utpalavarna...
