Such as medicinal bear skin, etc. Regarding medicines to be taken: Timely medicine should only be taken in the morning. If it benefits the patient, it may also be taken at inappropriate times. If it exceeds its own time, even if blessed, accumulation cannot be prevented, so blessing is not mentioned. The other three medicines are not blessed because they are allowed for everyone, whether or not they are patients, and can be taken at any time. However, if not blessed, the blessed medicine will begin to accumulate after two day-times and three night-times, a total of five times, so blessing is necessary to prevent this. Such a blessed medicine can only be taken by the patient. Even so, in general, it can only be taken until the end of its own named time. In particular, for time-segmented medicines, there are three situations: medicine made from timely substances, until the end of the last night-time segment; medicine made from seven-day substances, until the dawn of the eighth day has not yet risen, will not accumulate. And for medicine made from life-sustaining food, accumulation is impossible. So, is it universal that blessed medicine will not accumulate before its own time has passed? It is not universal; if the taste changes, the blessing will disappear, leading to accumulation. Even with discernment, it will change because of it. The ritual for how to take it is: regard oneself as a patient and food as medicine, maintain awareness, and through remembering the Three Jewels. Divide the food into four parts: First, offer clean food to the gods. Then, for the Dharma protectors and guardians, make very abundant tormas. After eating and drinking oneself, give the leftovers to the spirits. Through such a ritual, enjoy the food appropriately, and perform offerings, purification, and dedication. Also, the latter three medicines, and incidentally blessing the medicine container and begging bowl, and the rituals for taking them out, etc. Third, who should use it? In general, it is used by ordained monks who have discipline and have the mind of nirvana. In particular, it can be given to parents and beggars, etc. Fourth, the suitable place to put the medicine and how to take it is: In the sutra it says: In a suitable place, blessed cooking and placement are the same as outside. Therefore, delineate the boundary.
