like clothing, anything one span or more in length. Third, regarding their individual characteristics: A patchwork robe is made from nine to twenty-five small pieces of cloth, namely: nine pieces, eleven pieces, and thirteen pieces, these three are three and a half lengths of cloth. Fifteen pieces, seventeen pieces, and nineteen pieces, these three are four and a half lengths of cloth. Twenty-one pieces, twenty-three pieces, and twenty-five pieces, these three are five and a half lengths of cloth. As for the size, the three large ones are three spans in height and five spans in width. The three small ones are half a span less in height and width than that. The three medium ones are in between those two. The upper garment is seven small pieces of cloth and three and a half lengths of cloth, the size is the same as the three types of patchwork robes. The lower garment is five small pieces of cloth and two and a half lengths of cloth, the size is two spans in height and five or four spans in width, at the very least it should cover three circles. If the body is too fat and it doesn't fit, it is said that slits and shoulder pieces can be added. Generally, there are three types of spans: dust span, hand span, and body span. Here, it refers to the body span. Because the sutra says: 'The meaning of a span is two out of seven parts of the body.' The lower garment and its lining are the same size as the lower garment, and the sweat cloth and its lining are the same size as the upper garment, because they are the clothes worn under the lower garment and upper garment during the day and night. The face cloth is one span in length and width, the same as the pus cloth upper garment. The hair net is three spans in length and two and a half spans in width. The sizes of the wound covering cloth, the cushion, and the large cloth have already been explained in the chapter on offenses. However, Nyak Won Rinpoche said: 'The unit of measurement for the cushion is the dust span.' The shape is two and a half lengths of cloth. Fourth: All living utensils should be blessed with their respective names. In particular, the three Dharma robes, if there is no object, then bless with the material; if neither the object nor the material can be blessed, then bless according to the circumstances. The necessity of blessing in this way is: in reality, it can avoid the faults of holding and abandoning, and there will be no influence, etc.; indirectly, it can produce the benefit of being free from attachment to objects, and the latter two should also be understood. Second, regarding the remaining clothing of the extra utensils, there are three aspects. The definition is: any remaining clothing that has become a utensil for the needs of a monk's livelihood, the other name itself

It is the blessing or trust, that is, the kind of things that can be held. Classification: such as the second patched robe, which is the remainder that has become the shape of any living utensil; such as the second belt, which is the clothing remainder of the required utensil. Blessing is: blessing in the name of others, or trusting that the available utensils are Khenpo, etc., and the unavailable ones are bound by the patron. Third, there are also three kinds of clothes for the required utensils. The definition is: the difference of clothes that have not yet become the shape of any living utensil, any object that is not sure above one cubit. Blessing in the name of oneself and others is the kind of things that can be held. Classification: such as silk clothes, etc., which give rise to the concept of wealth, and utensils such as hats and belts that give rise to the concept of clothes. Blessing is: blessing for the purpose of both oneself and Brahma equally acting. Fifth, there are four ways to hold it. By whom is it held? In general, those who have the precepts of ordination hold it, especially the patched robe is held by the Bhikshu. With what kind of mentality? Holding the concept that the body has wounds and the clothes are covered with wound dressings, etc., and in general, all utensils are held with the mentality of being threatened by impermanence. For what purpose? In general, in order to transcend householders or heretics, especially the patched robe is to transcend the signs below Shramanera, and in order to follow the biography of one's own teacher, and to evoke the memory of the practitioner. Finally, how to repair it? Old clothes are repaired by patching, etc. If it cannot be repaired, it is said that it is mixed with soil and heavy objects, etc., for the purpose of increasing the merit of the patron, and applied to the walls of stupas and temples. Third, the basis of leather is: Katyayana's disciple, named Grain Sprout Born Twenty Billion, was allowed when he came from the stony borderland to see Shakyamuni Buddha. In order to know the boundary between permission and prohibition, the dividing point between the central and border areas is: as the basis of ordination mentioned earlier. Generally speaking, in the central region, only leather shoes are allowed to protect the residence, and in houses other than temples, if there are no other cushions, only sitting on leather is allowed, but sleeping is not allowed. In the border area, it is allowed to protect against the cold.
