Both shoes and mattresses are permissible to use. However, fancy items such as those with colorful designs, gold and silver ornaments, and slippers that make noise are not allowed. It is also forbidden to possess the leather of elephants, tigers, lions, horses, donkeys, and so on. Specifically, in the country of Asmāraparānta, it is taught as a practice to freely use leather clothing. Generally, in places where water freezes, both hats and boots are permitted, as instructed. Secondly, regarding the basis of medicine: When the Teacher was residing in Gnyan-yod, the monks were afflicted with autumn diseases and became emaciated, so the use of medicine was permitted. Moreover, if emaciation was not caused by eating at inappropriate times, medicine was divided into four categories and then allowed. There are four aspects to this: the source of medicine, the medicine itself, who uses it, and the place where it is kept (suitable room) and how it is used. The first point is: it should be obtained by abstaining from wrong livelihood and abandoning the two extremes. The second point includes: definition, classification, meaning of the word, and how to use it. The first point is: What kind of medicine is permissible for a disciplined monk to use? It is edible food that possesses the three qualities of smell, taste, and touch. As stated in the Treasury of Knowledge: "When desire arises for edible food, it possesses the three sources of generation." The second point includes: seasonal medicine, occasional medicine, seven-day medicine, and lifetime medicine. The first point, seasonal medicine, includes: definition and classification. The first point is: What is the medicine that is mainly allowed to relieve hunger? It is something that monks generally should not consume in the afternoon. The second point includes: the five foods and the five herbs. The first point is: The goddess Saga said: "Various rice, fried grains, tsampa and meat, flour and sugar are the five foods." The second point is: "Root, stem, flower, fruit, and leaves are also the five herbs." Secondly, occasional medicine includes: definition, nature, and classification. The first point is: What is the medicine that is mainly allowed to relieve thirst? It is something that monks can consume after blessing it within the time limit of occasional medicine. The second point is: The sage Kena's son offered eight drinks, as stated in the Basis of Medicine: "Water, tree fruits and amalaki, banyan and udumbara, parushaka and grapes, the eighth is haritaki." And others

The salt I made, which is the dregs of wine and so on. The salt of grains, which is the dregs from barley wine, buckwheat wine, and so on. Yogurt water, which is the juice of yogurt, the clear part after extracting cream, which is watery. Coarse, which is rice and millet, etc., cooked and pressed without adding yeast, which is known as "རྩབས" in Tibet. These are also beverages with five characteristics: soaked in water, filtered with a net, very thin, showing luster, beverages like the color of reed stalks. Third, there are three medicines that can be used within a time limit, within seven days, and for a lifetime: grape juice, sugarcane juice, and very thin amla juice, respectively. Third, the seven-day allowance has a definition and a classification. The first is, any medicine that is mainly given to cure lung disease, which a monk can enjoy after blessing it until the end of the seven days. The second is, ghee, grain oil, honey, and the foam of molasses. From this, molasses is extended, and the powder collected from the skin of molasses, which is made into lumps such as liquor, and nectar which is the same in nature as ghee, and the fat of five animals such as fish, which is the same as grain oil, which is boiled and filtered, and fresh Saga butter is also said to be allowed within seven days. In the basis of the Sutra Medicine, it is said that what is allowed within seven days is white butter, sesame oil, and honey. This is in accordance with what is said. Fourth, lifetime allowance has a definition and a classification. The first is, any medicine that is mainly given to cure mixed diseases, which can be enjoyed after blessing it as long as the disease exists. Second, there are five types: root medicines such as Polygonatum and rapeseed; trunk medicines such as sandalwood and cloves; leaf medicines such as neem leaves; flower medicines such as Vasa flowers; fruit medicines such as haritaki, bibhitaki, and amla. These are also mainly not used specifically for the purpose of food. Third, the meaning of the words is: In general, because it cures diseases, it is medicine. In particular, it is only allowed to be taken in the morning, which is sometimes allowed. It is blessed in its own name until the end of the time limit, so it is called "ཐུན་ཚོད" (thun tshod, time limit), allowed within seven days and allowed for life. Fourth, there are two ways to take it: taking it with the body is the eyes
