Moreover, it is not that those in accordance are not restrained, because here are described various kinds of transgressions to be confessed and to be restrained. Second, the precepts for a female novice: A female novice is on top of having obtained the novice vows. That is, on top of having obtained the ten precepts of a novice, having taken the vows of a female novice, one studies those precepts for two years. There are two types: the six root dharmas and the six conforming dharmas. The first is: going alone, swimming in water, touching a male, dwelling together, acting as a matchmaker, concealing offenses, are the six root dharmas. That is, the goddess of Sakya said: One should not go alone on the road, one should not swim across a river, one should not touch a male, one should not dwell together with him, one should not conceal faults, one should not become a relative. These six root dharmas are spoken to female novices. Second is: holding gold, cutting pubic hair, digging earth should be abandoned, taking without being given, not eating what has been stored up, not cutting green grass, these are the six conforming dharmas. From that, it says: Taking salisbram, and cutting the hair of the secret place, and digging the earth, and cutting green grass and so on, and taking without being given, and eating what has been stored up, turning back from that, others are the same, the conforming dharmas are considered to be six. These are the transgressions of a female novice that have exceeded what has been taken. The restraint in accordance with this is: except for the seven faultless ones, the other precepts of a female monastic are the conforming dharmas taken here, so if one transgresses these, it is a restraint of the mind. The seven faultless ones are: pregnancy, separation, touching fire, eating what has been abandoned, destroying seeds, in places where there is green grass, discarding impurities and climbing trees. Third, the precepts of a monk are threefold: protecting by relying on another person, protecting with one's own excellent intention, and explaining the precepts of how to protect. The first is: one who has just become a novice and has taken full ordination, until ten years have passed without interruption after one has taken full ordination, and one has five qualities, that is, before one has the two qualities of stability and intelligence, one must rely on a special abbot of the place to take and abandon.

It is unerring. Among them, the characteristics of the reliance and the relier are: The Three Hundred Verses says: Those who possess discipline and know the rituals of taming, who are compassionate to the sick, whose entourage is pure, who are diligent in benefiting Dharma and wealth, and who admonish in due time, these are praised as teachers. Therefore, possessing the qualities of stability, wisdom, and benefit is the characteristic of the reliance. Among them, it says: Respect the Khenpo, have pure discipline, be constantly diligent in meditation and recitation, be strict, gentle, and endowed with patience, one should know that diligently guarding the vows is the Dharma of the relier. This is the characteristic of the relier (disciple). How to establish reliance? If there is a Khenpo, then becoming a Khenpo itself already makes him the teacher of reliance, so there is no need to newly establish reliance, because the Khenpo himself is the reliance. Because it is said so. If there is no Khenpo, then perform the ritual of establishing reliance on a monk who is suitable as a teacher, and after living together, at dawn on the second day, that person becomes the teacher of reliance. It is permissible for many monks to rely on one teacher, but it is said that a novice cannot have more than one. Moreover, one should not live together for more than three nights, so it should not be called living together, but should be called attendant. The way to rely on the reliance teacher is: the relier should not do anything without informing the reliance. Therefore, except for things like prostrating to nearby stupas, urinating and defecating, going to other places to stay overnight, and the special provisions of time, do not do anything on your own, but inform him, and he also relies on you properly through good admonishments. The cause of the destruction of the established reliance is: both sides have the idea of not relying on each other. Second, is intention and action. First, for things to be adopted and abandoned, there must be joyful diligence; for places of advance and retreat, one must be serious and cautious; one must always be vigilant about whether faults have arisen in one's own mind. Because the main causes of faults are: ignorance, disrespect, carelessness, and many afflictions. Therefore, one must rely on the antidotes that can completely refute these faults. Second, what one has promised to adopt and abandon
