I pray to the one who possesses the qualities of fullness, is free from two contradictions, and has three characteristics. Therefore, the words of the ritual have five key points: I beseech that the liberation of abandoning all faults and perfecting all virtues be accomplished as the substance of a Bhikshu. I beseech that I be drawn out from the difficult-to-transcend state of Samsara, which is like a quagmire. I beseech that through the giving of vows not previously obtained, I may hold the supreme Pratimoksha vows. I beseech that the method of what to take and what to abandon within them be taught without error. I beseech that, without regard for gain and honor, but aroused by compassion, you grant the full Bhikshu vows. Therefore, please everyone clearly repeat what you have heard. Venerable Sangha, please listen. I, who am called by this name, state my name for the sake of its meaning, and desire to receive full ordination from the Sangha through the Upadhyaya who is called by this name.
