And also be able to adapt to the land. Then, in this land of Tibet, he also upheld the teachings for forty years. Finally, in the palace of Drakmar, he showed the manner of passing away due to being kicked by a horse, and his remains were enshrined in a stupa built behind Haspo Hill. In order for the Sangha to grow like a summer lake and never cease, (the master) said to place the remains on the east side of the stupa. His Khenpo, Ba Ratna, is said to be from the Yarlung region, of the Sba clan. Having studied many teachings from Acharya Bodhisattva and others, he was a minister possessing abundant faith and wisdom. One day, the Tsenpo asked: "My Tibet does not have any monks, can my ministers be ordained?" The Khenpo replied: "It is possible, let us try." So, on the eighth day of the first month of spring in the year of the Sheep, Acharya Shantarakshita as Khenpo, Danashila and Jinamitra as Karma Acharya and Secret Acharya, and ten other Panditas as completers, Ba Tri-gzigs, who had great faith in the Dharma, was ordained. Immediately after receiving the Bhikshu vows, he possessed divine clairvoyance, and the Tsenpo was very pleased. He took his feet to the crown of his head and bestowed the decree "You are the Ratna of Tibet," hence he was known as Ba Ratna. It is said in the Great Ba Genealogy that his real name was Pal Yang, and he was the earliest ordained person in Tibet. The Tsenpo then requested that more people be ordained. (The Khenpo) said: "Let us try." Then Ba Salnang and the son of Spa Gor He-dod and others were ordained, and it is said that they were given the names Yeshe Wangpo and Vairocana Rakshita, etc. Afterwards, Ba Ratna became a great holder of the Vinaya Pitaka, and during the great Pratitya-samutpada offering at Samye Monastery, he acted as the Khenpo for about three hundred faithful people who were ordained, and in the end, after upholding the Dharma with great activities for a long time, he showed many miraculous signs such as the statue of Jomo Yizhin Khorlo Gyurwa shedding tears, and then passed away. His Khenpo was the root of the Later Propagation of the Dharma, known as the three pillars of Mar, Yo, and Tsang, and the accomplished ones were these. Namely, Gyermi Tsang Rabsel of Jad, Yo Gejung of Bodongba, and Mar Shakyamuni of Todlungpa, who were ordained by Ba Ratna and received the full ordination.

After completion, having studied the scriptures with Jinamitra, Dānaśrīla, Cho Klu, and his own Khenpo, he became a great Bhikshu Tripitaka holder. He meditated in the meditation hall of Pal Chuwo Ri. When Tri U Dumtsen Darma destroyed the teachings in the Iron Bird year, he carried the necessary Vinaya and Abhidharma texts, including the Karma Shatam, and first fled to the direction of Tö. Fearing the reach of the king's laws, he hid during the day and traveled at night, reaching Ngari. Unable to stay there, he left from Garlok and fled through upper Jang to the land of Hor. Relying on the Horian Upasaka Shakya Sherab, he resided there, thinking he must spread the teachings, but he was unable to do so. So he returned from Beri Tsa Tso in the southern part of Do Med, and along the Machu River, he meditated and resided in Dantik Shekyi Yang Gon in Do Med. Then, the great Khenpo disciple of Tsang Rabsel was said to have been the Dharma minister of the king in a previous life, named Dro Tak Nang Trisum Je, who passed away at the age of thirty-five after making aspirations. In reality, a Bodhisattva with the power of aspiration was born in Töndruk Tsongkha in the Water Male Mouse year. He was named Muzu Salbar. From a young age, he awakened his lineage and received the recitation transmission from Nön Jampal. He generated Bodhicitta from Khang Rinchen Dorje. He learned metrics from Kyi and listened to Yoga from Nam Gaden, becoming knowledgeable in them. One day, a herdsman from the Machu River saw Tsang Rabsel and his three companions residing in Dantik and told people, "They are staying here." Muzu Salbar heard this and went to see them, and upon seeing them, he developed faith and thought, "In order to eliminate the suffering of Samsara and attain liberation, in order to pacify the suffering of beings with nectar, in order to spread the teachings in the ten directions, I must first renounce." So he requested to be ordained. Tsang gave him a Vinaya text and said, "Look at this, and if you have faith, you will be ordained." After looking at it, he had great faith and shed tears as he requested. There, Tsang acted as Khenpo and Yö as Acharya, and he was ordained as a novice monk. From the names of the Khenpo and Acharya, he was given the name Gewa Rabsel. Later, because he was very intelligent, he was known as Gongpa Rabsel. Then
