The two aspects of knowledge, those that are in accordance and those that are in opposition. First definition: Which knowledge should a person seeking liberation completely abandon? Example: Grasping at self of a person and grasping at self of phenomena. Second definition: What should a person seeking liberation cultivate in their own mindstream? Example: All paths to liberation. Classification: Base knowledge, path knowledge, and knowledge of omniscience are the three aspects of knowledge. First definition: The wisdom that directly realizes the nature of the four truths as the absence of self of a person. Classification: The twelve aspects of the first three truths and the fifteen aspects of the path truth, totaling twenty-seven. Second definition: The wisdom of a great vehicle noble being who directly realizes the nature of the four truths as the absence of self of phenomena. Classification: Five aspects of the truth of suffering, eight of the truth of origin, sixteen of the truth of cessation, and seven of the truth of the path, totaling thirty-six. The third will be explained below. The object aspect and the knowledge aspect are not contradictory, because the knowledge aspect is a distinction of the object aspect. In the fourth, there are three parts: general explanation, specific explanation, and refuting objections. The first is: After determining that all phenomena are without inherent existence, to cultivate their meaning as it is, and to practice the union of direct perception and emptiness, is the order of cultivation of the meaning of actualizing the object. These two are not contradictory, because one mind can simultaneously cultivate both emptiness of the object and direct perception of the object. The second is divided into four: how the essence is, following, acting according to the characteristics, and cultivating with the aspect of aspiration. The first is: To generate the object of cultivation in the mind of the cultivator and then cultivate, such as cultivating mindfulness in the accumulation path. The second is: To cultivate the object and aspect that are in accordance with the object of cultivation, such as focusing on the object and aspect of the preparation path in the accumulation path. The third is: To act according to the characteristics of the higher phenomena to be attained, such as focusing on the self and general characteristics of the noble path in the accumulation path. The fourth is: To focus on the mind with the thought of wanting to attain a special result, such as in the

For example, meditating on Sarvakarajnana (all-knowing wisdom) on the path of accumulation. Third, if it is asserted that it is unreasonable to meditate on Sarvakarajnana on the path of accumulation, it is because it is not there. If you say so, there is no fault, because although there is no meditation on the essence as it is, there is meditation in the form of following its characteristics and aspirations. Fifth, the actual teachings of both the essence and the detailed explanations of the Sutras and Shastras are pervaded by the aspect of wisdom. In the essence, the root verses speak of the distinctions of wisdom, and in the commentaries, they speak of the antidotes to the unfavorable aspects, and the detailed explanations must also explain it in detail. In summary, the forms taught in the wording here have three kinds of cognitions that are subjects, and their objects, the four truths, are twofold. First, the aspect of wisdom that is the main object of the actual teaching. Here, it is the aspect of meaning taught incidentally. The meaning of the words is that the path of seeing of the Great Vehicle is the aspect of wisdom of the antidote side, because it is the wisdom that antidotes the unfavorable aspects to be abandoned by directly realizing the nature of the four truths. The aspect of wisdom taught here is threefold: the basis wisdom, the path wisdom, and the Sarvakarajnana. In the second part, there are three parts: the explanation of the aspects of the basis wisdom, the path wisdom, and the Sarvakarajnana. In the first part, there are two parts: the general teaching and the specific explanation of the aspect of the path truth. The first is taught from the aspect of non-existence, and so on. The second, in the context of the antidote to the afflictive obscurations, is divided into two. The first has four parts: the basis of division, the path truth, the three paths of division, the meaning of contaminated and uncontaminated, and the explanation of the two obscurations to be abandoned. First, it is the path truth of the Great and Small Vehicles. Second, the uncontaminated path mentioned here as the antidote to the afflictive obscurations, and the contaminated and uncontaminated paths as the antidote to the apprehended conceptualization of the cognitive obscurations, are three in total. The characteristics of these three are, respectively, the realization of the Lesser Vehicle, which has the ability to abandon the afflictive obscurations and is contained in the meditative equipoise that directly realizes the selflessness of the person. If classified, there are two types that exist in the continuum of the Great and Small Vehicles. It has the ability to abandon the apprehended conceptualization of the cognitive obscurations, and is the meditational
