In order to generate the noble ones, it is necessary to have a mother who possesses four characteristics: the mind of enlightenment, which is like a seed, with faith in the Mahayana Dharma; wisdom, which is like a mother, realizing emptiness as its basis; the bliss of meditative concentration, which is like a womb, causing it to not decline and to increase; and great compassion, which is like a mother, causing the qualities of abandonment and realization of the Bodhisattva, which arise from that cause, to increase more and more; it is necessary to have these four complete. As it says in the Uttaratantra: "Faith in the supreme vehicle is like a seed, wisdom is like the mother of the Buddhas, the bliss of meditative concentration is like a womb, and compassion is like a nurturing mother; whoever has these is a true son born from the Buddha." And as it says in the Ornament of the Sutras: "Faith in the Dharma is like a seed, the supreme perfection is born from the mother, the bliss born from meditative concentration is like a womb, and compassion is the mother who gives birth." And as it says in the Sutras: "The father of a pure Bodhisattva is skilled in means, the mother is the Perfection of Wisdom, and the guides are born from them." Secondly, there are two ways in which the mothers of the Lesser Vehicle and the Great Vehicle become children. The first is that the direct realization of the Lesser Vehicle's path of learning accomplishes its purpose by leading the person who is the basis for it to the two Nirvanas; and the direct realization of the Lesser Vehicle's path of no more learning accomplishes its purpose by the bliss of liberation from the afflictions of the person who is the basis for it not declining and increasing more and more. As the Omniscient One said: "The one who leads to Nirvana is also..." The second is that the wisdom of the path of causes accomplishes its purpose by the Bodhisattva in one's own continuum accomplishing the benefit of the world as they wish; and the all-knowing wisdom accomplishes its purpose by the Buddhas, the noble ones in one's own continuum, directly acting as the supporting condition for turning the wheel of Dharma in accordance with the minds of the beings to be tamed. As the wisdom of the path of causes says: "..." and "Who and truly..." etc. The meaning of the words is: The three wisdoms are the object of offering, because they are the wisdom that accomplishes the purposes of the four noble ones together with oneself. In the case of "the Hearers and their retinues," there are two. The first is: the person who is the basis, the wisdom that is the basis of means, and the result is Nirvana.

Three. The first has commonalities. Here, the Shravakas mentioned are explained in two specific ways. The first is that for those who abide in any of the five paths of the Shravakas, realization has arisen in their continuum, such as Buddhas and Bodhisattvas who have taken the form of Shravakas, like Shariputra. And the emanated Mahayana individuals who verbally acknowledge the tenets of the Shravakas, like Gunaprabha, and the Shravakas who acknowledge the view, there are three types. As it is also said in the Lotus Sutra: "Lord, we have become Shravakas today, and we will also proclaim the supreme Bodhi, the sound of Bodhi also enters very well, therefore we are like Shravakas who have exhausted their fire." The necessity of the latter two is to guide individuals who are inclined towards the Hinayana into the Mahayana. The former says: "The great vehicle will be proclaimed, and here, recognizing that beings are inclined towards the inferior, these Bodhisattvas will become Shravakas, and will also skillfully show themselves as Pratyekabuddha Bodhi." Therefore, these two are nominal Shravakas, because they have the Mahayana mind of enlightenment in their continuum. The second is that there are two types: Shravakas of uncertain lineage who have become suitable vessels for the actual arising of Prajnaparamita realization, and Mahayana individuals who are called Shravakas. From the context of the topic, the individuals designated by the names of Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, and the Bodhisattvas, are superior in that they actually listen to the Prajnaparamita Sutra from the teacher. Second, nature, classification, and here, the recognition of the basis of knowledge that is actually taught, there are three. The first two will be explained below. Third, the basis of knowledge indicated by the words here has all three bases of knowledge of the Great and Small Vehicles. And the main basis of knowledge to be taught here is definitely the basis of knowledge of the Great Vehicle. Because this is consistent with the praise of offering expressed in the body of the treatise. The main basis of knowledge to be taught in the third chapter is definitely the basis of knowledge of the Great Vehicle. Third, example, definition, and classification, there are three. First, the truth of cessation and Nirvana in the continuum of the non-learner of either the Great or Small Vehicle have the same meaning. Then, in the Uttaratantra it says: "Therefore, without attaining Buddhahood, Nirvana cannot be attained, just as without abandoning light and rays, one cannot see the sun."
