Firstly, the qualities of thought are great compassion by nature, faith in the Mahayana Dharma, and the qualities of practice are endurance in the hardships of Dharma practice, and the virtuous deeds of generosity, etc. Practicing correctly. As stated in the Ornament: "Before practice, there is compassion, faith, and patience, and the virtuous conduct is practiced correctly, it is definitely explained as a sign of lineage." This is the first. The second is: being heavily accustomed to afflictions, associating with bad friends, lacking the favorable conditions for Dharma practice, and being controlled by an unwholesome spiritual friend. As stated in the Ornament: "Accustomed to afflictions, with bad friends, poverty, and being under the control of others, in short, the faults of lineage, should be known as four types." This is the second. The third is: the Mahayana lineage is like the good roots of a tree. As stated in the Ornament: "Virtues are extremely vast for generating the Bodhi tree, for obtaining the peace of great happiness and suffering, for benefiting oneself and others, this supreme lineage is like the good roots of a tree." This is the third. Secondly, there are two ways of becoming a lineage from the perspective of the basis and from the perspective of the object. The first is: the nature of knowledge with defilements becomes a lineage from the perspective of the basis. In the root text: "The basis of entering is called lineage." And in the commentary: "The essence of the Dharmadhatu, which is the basis of the Dharma, is called lineage, due to the differences in the stages of the practice Dharma, the thirteen types of Bodhisattvas as previously explained." This is the first. The second is: becoming a lineage from the perspective of the object, relying on the practice of the Mahayana, focusing on and becoming accustomed to the Dharmadhatu, thereby gradually purifying defilements, and ultimately realizing the nature of reality. The meaning of the words is: the nature of knowledge with defilements in the continuum of a Bodhisattva on the path of application is the naturally abiding lineage of the basis of practice, because it is the nature of knowledge with defilements that is the basis of the Mahayana practice on which one relies. After that, in the section "As it is thought," it is divided into two. The first is: Generally showing the classification of definitive and non-definitive meanings, specifically explaining the hidden and secret meanings, and leading the beings to be tamed.

There are three aspects to what? First, identifying the provisional and definitive meanings; the divisions of the provisional and definitive meanings; and their definitions. First, what is spoken of merely in worldly terms is called provisional meaning, and the ultimate reality of things is called definitive meaning. As it says in the Lamp Illuminating [the Thought], "For those without fortune, the Victorious Ones speak in a concealed way, that is the provisional meaning. In order to fully show the true meaning, the definitive meaning is also to be spoken." Because it is spoken in this way. Second, like the sutras where one's own meaning cannot be accepted literally and can be accepted literally, which are in terms of the expression; like the sutras that mainly show conventional truth and the sutras that mainly show ultimate truth, which are in terms of the meaning; like the sutras that are mainly spoken for the sake of leading certain trainees to the path and the result, which are in terms of the trainees; like the sutras that mainly show meanings that are consistent and inconsistent with the tenets of each of their own schools, which are made in terms of tenets, there are four. Among these, the division made in terms of meaning is the defining characteristic, and the other three are imputed. Thus, in the Jewel Heap Sutra, it also says, "Those sutras that accomplish the conventional are called provisional meaning. Those sutras that show the ultimate are called definitive meaning." Thus. Third, the sutra that directly shows the conventional truth as the main object of its own clinging, and the sutra that directly shows the ultimate truth as the main object of its own clinging. In terms of divisions, each of the provisional and definitive meanings has two sutras of provisional and definitive meaning, so there are four. Definition: What is the definition of each of the provisional and definitive meanings? That which cannot be accepted literally as the meaning of one's own words, what is that? That which can be accepted literally as the meaning of one's own words. Second, sutras with intention, sutras with hidden intention, and explaining the difference between the two, these three. First, equality, different meaning, different time. Sutras spoken according to the thoughts of individuals, these four. First, in order to counteract disparaging the Buddha, considering the three equalities, "I myself am the Buddha Vipashyin." Like the sutra that says this. The three equalities are: the collection of causes is two, the result is the Dharmakaya, and the activity for the benefit of others is equal. Second, in order to counteract disparaging the Dharma, considering a different meaning, "Father and mother are to be killed, and the king\
