Based on the purified sense faculty of form through meditative absorption, it has the object of clearly understanding various objects such as hundreds of yojanas. Classification: The two types of flesh eyes of the Lesser Vehicle and the Great Vehicle. Which of the five eyes is it? Based on one's own unique inherent condition, the sense faculty of form arising from the maturation of past virtuous actions, it has the object of directly perceiving the death and birth of sentient beings. Classification: The two types of divine eyes of the Lesser Vehicle and the Great Vehicle. Which one is it? Based on the actual mind of inherent condition meditative absorption, it is the wisdom that directly realizes selflessness. Classification: Like the knowledge of the noble ones of the Lesser Vehicle who have attained the actual quiescence of meditative absorption, which is only the selflessness of the person; and all the knowledge of the noble ones of the Great Vehicle, which is the two eyes of wisdom that directly realize the selflessness of phenomena. Which one is it? Based on the actual mind of inherent condition meditative absorption, it has the object of directly understanding the differences in the faculties of oneself and beings with equal or lesser faculties. Classification: Like the subsequent wisdom of the noble ones of the Lesser Vehicle who have attained the actual meditative absorption, which is the Lesser Vehicle, and the two Dharma eyes of the Great Vehicle of such Great Vehicle. Classifying from the perspective of mere similarity in name, such as the verbal dharani and meaning dharani that can hold the words and meanings of immeasurable scriptures, which are the teachings, and the two Dharma eyes of realization, such as the clairvoyance that knows the minds of others in the noble continuum. The ultimate wisdom that directly realizes all phenomena. Classification: The two types of Buddha eyes: the similar and the characteristic. Fourth, the eyes are established as five from the perspective of the way of realizing objects, namely, those with the object of all phenomena and those that are not the object of all phenomena. From the former perspective, it is the Buddha eye. The latter is divided into two: those with the object of suchness and those with the object of all that exists. From the former perspective, it is the eye of wisdom. The latter is divided into: the flesh eye is established from the perspective of measuring the dependent vessel world, the divine eye is established from the perspective of measuring the characteristics of the dependent sentient beings, and the Dharma eye is established from the perspective of measuring the differences in the faculties of others' continuums. In summary, from the perspective of essence, it is the nature of the sense consciousness.

The eye and, the two eyes that have become the nature of mind consciousness are united. That is to say, the first two eyes are entirely sense consciousness, the middle two of the learning continuum are mind consciousness, and the Buddha's eye has both. Therefore, the first two eyes are not contradictory, because the bodhisattva practitioner's eye consciousness, which relies on the mind of the actual practice of innate meditation, is established as the first eye from the perspective of knowing the container world of hundreds of yojanas, and the second eye from the perspective of clearly knowing the death and birth of sentient beings residing there. The middle two are not contradictory, because the wisdom of the noble bodhisattva is established as the eye of wisdom from the perspective of clearly realizing the selflessness of phenomena, and as the eye of dharma from the perspective of clearly knowing the differences in the faculties of others' continuums. In the path of learning, the first two and the middle two are contradictory, because the first two are established as sense consciousness, and the latter two are established as mind consciousness. In the state of Buddhahood, all five are not contradictory, because the eye consciousness of the noble Buddha possesses the characteristics of all five eyes. The fifth has two aspects: the main boundary and the boundary of attainment. The first is in order: the path of accumulation, the path of preparation, the samadhi of the noble continuum, its subsequent attainment, and the state of Buddhahood. The second is that the first two exist from the path of accumulation where the actual practice of meditation is attained. The middle two exist in the continuum of all noble ones who have attained it. The Buddha's eye, which is similar, exists from the seventh bhumi, because the Sutra of Thorough Cleansing of the Seventh Bhumi says, "What is the unobstructed wisdom of a bodhisattva mahasattva? It is the Buddha's eye." The characteristic is only in the state of Buddhahood. The third has two aspects: temporary and ultimate results. The first is that one knows how to benefit others without error through the five eyes, and does not rely on others to show instructions. The second is that it accomplishes the supreme result, as the sutra says, "Having trained in these five eyes, bodhisattva mahasattvas will manifest the supreme, perfect, and complete enlightenment and become Buddhas." Thus it is. The meaning of the words is that the teachings that instruct the five eyes are the subject, the need.
