Saying that falsehood is the conventional truth. Thus. The essence of wisdom is to consider the phenomena of mere appearances that are the objects of worldly conventions, and the suchness that transcends them, as: In the sutras it is said, what is conventional truth? It is the establishment of worldly conventions, and those indicated by letters, sounds, and symbols. The ultimate truth is that for which there is no movement of the mind, let alone letters. Relying on what is said, the distinction between the two truths is made. The second is that the phenomena of mere appearances, which are the main objects of conventional valid cognition, and the suchness, which is the main object of rational valid cognition, are reasonably the characteristics of conventional truth and ultimate truth respectively. The Madhyamaka Two Truths says: This very thing that appears, is merely conventional, the other is ultimate. Thus. Second, the explanation of the term conventional truth, and these two of ultimate truth. The first is that conventional is the grasping of truth that is included by non-afflictive ignorance, and it is so called because of the meaning of grasping it as true, as it is said in the Entering the Middle Way: Because the nature of delusion obscures, it is conventional; whatever is deceived by it, appears as true, that is called conventional truth, thus said the Able One, the false phenomena are conventional. Because of this. Second, ultimate is the intellectual subsequent cognition that relies on reasoning, and the samadhi wisdom that arises from meditation, and because it abides in its object and is not harmed by other reasons, it is so called. Or, the nature of reality, suchness, is the same basis as ultimate and truth, and it appears in the presence of samadhi, therefore it is so called. The Clear Words says: The meaning is also it, and the supreme is also it, therefore it is called ultimate. It itself is true, therefore it is called ultimate truth. Thus. Third, the difference between conventional and ultimate, two kinds. First, the general explanation of the method of explanation, and the concise explanation of the characteristics. First, the views of the Prasangikas and the Svatantrikas, two kinds. First, the subject-possessor being correct and the subject-possessor being incorrect conventional truth, and the object being correct and the object being incorrect conventional truth. The first is that the meaning that appears to the knowledge itself is established as it appears, as a conventional measure.

The mind of false perception without harm. The second is, for the object appearing to consciousness itself, the mind of false perception that is harmed by conventional valid cognition. As it says in the "Entering the Middle Way": False perception is also considered to be of two types: clear sense faculties and impaired sense faculties. The knowledge of those with impaired sense faculties is considered to be reversed in relation to the knowledge of those with good sense faculties. So it is said. The third and fourth are considered to be the objects of apprehension of these two types of knowledge. As it says in the "Entering the Middle Way": Whatever is apprehended by the six sense faculties without harm is understood by the world, and from the world itself it is true, and the rest is considered to be reversed from the world itself. So it is said. The second is that the conventional truth that appears and is established as it appears is the correct conventional truth, and the conventional truth that appears and is established as it appears but is harmed by other valid cognitions is considered to be the false conventional truth. As it says in the "Two Truths": Although the appearances are similar, the functions are different. Because of the ability and inability, the distinction between true and untrue conventional truths is made. So it is said. The second is, which of the two, true and false, is the characteristic of the correct conventional truth, which is a phenomenon that does not deceive in terms of designation? The divisions are: the conventional truth of the subject and the conventional truth of the object. The first is the knowledge that measures forms and so on based on unimpaired sense faculties, and the wisdom that realizes selflessness, and so on. The second is the self-character that has become the object of those minds. Which of the two, true and false, is the characteristic of the false conventional truth, which appears as a deceptive phenomenon even in terms of designation? The divisions are: the conventional truth of the subject and the conventional truth of the object. The first is the knowledge of impaired sense faculties, and the grasping of self of a person, and so on. The second is the reflection of the moon in water that appears to the mistaken sense consciousness, and the self that appears to the thought of grasping at self, and so on. As it says in the "Two Truths": Conventional truth is considered to be of two types: false and true. The first has two, the moon in water and the thoughts of bad philosophies. So it is said. The second is divided into two aspects: the basis of the phenomenon and the mere similarity of names. The first, if divided in detail, has twenty emptinesses, eighteen emptinesses, and sixteen emptinesses, and if in brief, then...
