Those are called worldly desires. The third is the desire realm. There, desire also exists in the form of matter. Why is it that only the gods of the meditative heavens are referred to with the term "form"? Although similar in form, the most excellent form obtained through the results of virtuous contaminated actions is the clear and radiant form of the meditative heavens. Because the results of maturation and the qualities thereof are dissimilar, the term "form" is not applied to the desire realm, using a term that negates what is absent in the inferior. Among these, there are two: higher realms and lower realms. In the higher realms, there are gods and humans. First, the gods are the six types of desire gods. The first is located below the Brahma realm, in the sky adorned with wish-fulfilling jewel trees. They are called "Those Who Control Others' Emanations" because they have power over the enjoyment of what others emanate, or because the emanated substances, although emanated by themselves, appear as wealth elsewhere. Their bodies are two and a half yojanas, which is eight hundred and a half bows. Their lifespan is sixteen hundred human years counted as one day, twelve months as one year, and they can live for sixteen thousand years. The sky is referred to with the term "wish-fulfilling" to symbolize the arising of all desires, but there are no trees. Below that, in the sky adorned with a wish-fulfilling tree called "Beautiful to See," they are called "Joyful Emanations" because they have the enjoyment of controlling their own emanations. Their bodies are one and a quarter yojanas, which is five hundred and twenty-five bows. Their lifespan is eight hundred human years counted as one day, and they can live for eight thousand years. Below that, in the sky adorned with a wish-fulfilling tree called "Pleasing to the Eye," they are called "Joyful" because they possess the joy of both the Great Vehicle's Dharma and enjoyment. This is the Tushita Heaven, the place where a regent of the Buddhas of the Good Aeon always resides. Their bodies are one yojana, which is five hundred bows. Their lifespan is four hundred human years counted as one day, and they can live for four thousand years. Below that, in the sky adorned with a wish-fulfilling tree called "Mind-Changing," they are called "Free from Strife" because they are free from the strife of non-gods (asuras). Gods and goddesses are born simultaneously from the lap, so they are called "Twins."

因此,身体的高度为一个俱卢舍的四分之三,即三百七十五弓箭。寿命以人寿二百日为一年计算,可活两千岁。这些欲界天神的住所,有甘露食物、饮料、天衣,以及如意树所出的一切所需之物,还有乐器、歌舞、嬉戏等无量的享乐,即令人愉悦的色、声、香、味、触等。享乐的主体是:在所亲近的对境中,以极乐的功德,即饮食和性爱的快乐。享用方式如前所述。依地的天神住所也有两种。第一种是:以如意树聚集的“萨朵”(ས་རྟོལ།)之地为庄严的基处,以花鬘等三十三天为自在,因此称为三十三天。身体的高度为两又四分之一个俱卢舍,即二百五十弓箭。以人寿一百年为一日计算,可活一千岁。欲望的享用如同人类一样,男女二者通过性爱来享用。虽然没有精血流出,但因控制风息而能远离痛苦。第二种是:在须弥山的各层阶上,由三十三天繁衍出的天神居住,成为四方之主,即属于四部众的四大天王种姓的天神。寿命以人寿五十年为一日计算,可活五百岁。身体的高度为四分之一个俱卢舍,即一百二十五弓箭。性爱的享用方式与三十三天相同,甘露、树木、衣物等无量。有些天神在日月星辰之上,于天神的城市中享用,环绕四大部洲。在其下,居住在须弥山内部的阿修罗,是从一些不驯服的天神种类中分离出来的。 即:寿命和光辉的天神种类,因光辉和善劫而性情善良,对佛法非常虔诚;强大的夜叉种类,财富和资产巨大,具有力量、光辉和神通;粗暴易怒的罗刹种类,喜欢黑暗的一面;

Thus, the height of the body is three-quarters of a krosha, which is three hundred and seventy-five bows. The lifespan is calculated with a human lifespan of two hundred days as one year, and they can live for two thousand years. These abodes of the desire realm gods have nectar-like food, drinks, heavenly garments, and whatever is desired from the wish-fulfilling tree, as well as limitless enjoyments such as musical instruments, songs, dances, and games, which are pleasing forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile sensations. The main object of enjoyment is: among the objects that are closely approached, the bliss of virtue, which is the pleasure of food and sexual love. The manner of enjoyment is as previously described. The abodes of the earth-based gods are also of two types. The first is: the base is adorned with the wish-fulfilling tree gathering place called "Sartol," and the thirty-three abodes, such as flower garlands, are empowered, hence they are called the Thirty-Three. The height of the body is two and two-fourths of a krosha, which is two hundred and fifty bows. With a human lifespan of one hundred years as one day, they can live for one thousand years. The enjoyment of desire is like that of humans, with the two sexes enjoying through sexual intercourse. Although no semen or blood flows out, they are freed from suffering by controlling the winds. The second abode of those who enjoy on the earth is: on the various levels of Mount Meru, the gods who originate from the Thirty-Three reside, becoming the lords of the four directions, that is, the gods of the Four Great Kings lineage belonging to the four divisions. The lifespan is calculated with a human lifespan of fifty years as one day, and they can live for five hundred years. The height of the body is one-fourth of a krosha, which is one hundred and twenty-five bows. The manner of enjoying sexual intercourse is the same as that of the Thirty-Three, with nectar, trees, clothing, and so on being immeasurable. Some gods enjoy themselves in the cities of the gods above the sun, moon, planets, and stars, circling the four continents. Below them, the Asuras who dwell in the interior of Mount Meru are separated from some untamed types of gods. Namely: the types of gods with life and splendor, who are virtuous in nature due to splendor and the good kalpa, and are very devoted to the Dharma; the powerful Yaksha types, who are great in wealth and possessions, and have power, splendor, and great magical abilities; the violent and wrathful Rakshasa types, who delight in the dark side;
