There are individual stupas. In the spaces between, there are places with individual far-reaching reputations, places where the Buddhas of the Fortunate Aeon attain unsurpassed enlightenment. It is hoped that it will remain unharmed by the seven fires and one water, etc. The same single tree changes its name according to the time, appearing as if it has a thousand names. In the past, when Buddha Kashyapa attained enlightenment, it was called the Nyagrodha tree. Now, when Shakyamuni Buddha passed into Nirvana, it was called the Sorrowless tree. In the future, when Maitreya attains enlightenment, it will be called the Naga tree flower, etc. To the east of Lake Mapam (Tso Ma Dros Pa), there is a silver rock shaped like an elephant's mouth, from which silver sand flows, circling seven times before flowing away. To the south, there is a golden rock shaped like a bull's mouth, from which golden sand flows away. To the west, there is a beryl rock shaped like a horse's mouth, from which beryl sand flows away. To the north, there is a rock shaped like a lion's mouth, from which turquoise sand flows. Twenty yojanas north of the lake, there is a rock called the Golden Bird's Nest, which is fifty yojanas wide and two and a half yojanas high, beautifully shaped and pleasing to the eye, surrounded by a hundred thousand golden bird's nests identical to itself. Twenty yojanas north of the bird's nest, there is a tree called the King of Sala Trees, which is very strong, surrounded by seven layers of Sala trees. Twenty yojanas east of that tree, there is a pond called Slowly Flowing, filled with water that tastes like honey, fifty yojanas wide and two hundred yojanas in circumference, growing lotuses and other flowers with stems as thick as plow handles, flowers as large as chariot wheels, and leaves as large as ox hides, surrounded by a hundred thousand ponds. Near all the aforementioned places, there are war elephants of the gods, called Extremely Strong, along with a hundred thousand retinue elephants, residing near the Golden Bird's Nest rock for four months in winter and near the Sala tree for four months in summer. Furthermore, in the center is Vajrasana (Bodh Gaya). To the east is Mount Wutai, the abode of the noble Manjushri. To the south is Mount Potala, the abode of Avalokiteshvara. To the west is the land of Oddiyana (Ugyen), the secret treasury of the Dakinis. To the north are the thirty Dharma Kings, lineage holders.

The place of the three roots is in Shambhala. Third, explaining the place of the lower realms: Twenty thousand yojanas below this, is the Avici hell, and it is the same size. Above it are seven hells, and all eight have sixteen additional places. On the four sides of these are rivers such as fire embers, decaying corpses, and paths of razors. There are eight other places such as blister-filled ones. This means that from the bottom of Jambudvipa, from Mount Kailash, twenty thousand yojanas downwards, there is the place of the great suffering Avici hell for sentient beings. The iron house is twenty thousand yojanas in height and width, and from Jambudvipa to where its foundation does not reach is forty thousand yojanas. Above that, at a distance of twenty thousand yojanas, are the Extremely Hot Hell, the Crying Hell, the Great Crying Hell, the Destroying Hell, the Black Line Hell, and the Reviving Hell, which are stacked one above the other. They are separated by four thousand yojanas each. Even if one escapes from those eight hot hells, there are still places to experience suffering, namely, the remaining four nearby places each, totaling sixteen places. On the four sides of these are fire embers, mud of decaying corpses, paths of razors, and immeasurable rivers. Therefore, directly opposite those eight hot hells are eight other cold hells, namely, the blister hell, the blister bursting hell, the achuchu hell, the kyehu hell, the sotamtam hell, the hell where it cracks like a blue lotus, the hell where it cracks like a lotus, and the hell where it cracks like a great lotus. The two, hot and cold, alternate, and those with slightly lighter karma are born there from top to bottom. The root place of the pretas is five hundred yojanas below the king's city (Rajagriha) from this Jambudvipa, and the branch places are also in the places of gods and humans. The general place of animals is the great ocean, and the scattered places are also in the human realm and the realm of desire gods. In short, it is said that they are also in the earth, plains, mountains, trees, water, sky, and among humans. The place of higher realms. The place of humans is the four continents and seven subcontinents. The Rakshasa continent of Ngayab is included in the realm of pretas because it is inhabited by Rakshasas. Fourth, explaining the way the sun and moon appear, there are two aspects: the actual objects and the arrangement of seasons. The first aspect is: The sun and moon are at half the height of Mount Meru, with fifty-one yojanas. This means that
