Sa. Firstly, those with few qualities among the non-virtuous, possess eight qualities: body, feeling, life, and mind. Similarly, formless children also possess equanimity, life, mind, and virtuous qualities. This means that those without virtuous roots possess few faculties, namely the body faculty, the five feelings, life, mind, and joy, totaling eight. Formless children also possess these qualities, namely equanimity, life, mind, and five qualities such as faith. Secondly, considering those with many qualities, there are nineteen qualities, excluding the stainless ones. Those with two faculties, the noble ones with attachment, except for the one faculty of the stainless. This means that ordinary beings in the desire realm with two faculties possess many qualities, nineteen excluding the three stainless ones. Noble ones on the path of seeing with attachment, possess eighteen qualities excluding either the male or female faculty, and nineteen with the faculty of omniscience. Similarly, Hearers on the path of cultivation also possess the aforementioned eighteen qualities, and nineteen with the faculty of omniscience. Secondly, regarding the arising of conditioned phenomena, there are two types: those with form and those without form. Firstly: If in the desire realm there is no faculty, then there are eight subtle particles of matter without sound. Those with the body faculty have nine substances, and those with other faculties have ten substances. This means that in the desire realm, when a subtle particle not grasped by a faculty arises, the four elements and the four meanings without sound, totaling eight, arise simultaneously. Those with the body faculty have the previous eight plus the body faculty, totaling nine, arising simultaneously. Those with the eye faculty have the previous nine plus the eye faculty, totaling ten, arising simultaneously. Other faculties can be inferred similarly. Secondly, regarding the arising of formless phenomena, there are two types: corresponding formations and non-corresponding formations. The first has two aspects: teaching and explanation. The first is: Mind and mental factors necessarily arise together, all conditioned phenomena and their characteristics, and attainment. This means that when a primary mind arises, it necessarily arises simultaneously with its mental factors, and all conditioned phenomena arise simultaneously with their characteristics of arising, abiding, ceasing, and impermanence, which is universal, because if it is a conditioned phenomenon, it must possess these four. If it is a conditioned phenomenon included in the continuum, then it necessarily arises simultaneously with its attainment, because the object to be attained must have a substance that makes it exist in the continuum. Secondly, mental factors in general
