Because the eye faculty depends on the ground. Therefore, the lower body has the upper eye faculty depending on it, because the first dhyana's basis, having accomplished the actual practice of the fourth dhyana, the eye faculty of the fourth dhyana will manifest. The eye of the lower ground cannot see the form of the upper ground, because the eye of the lower ground is inferior and the form of the upper ground is superior. Therefore, the eye of the upper ground can see the form of the lower ground, because when the basis of the first dhyana manifests the eye faculty of the fourth dhyana, that eye can see the form of the first dhyana. The eye of the lower ground cannot be the basis of the consciousness of the upper ground, because the eye of the lower ground is inferior and the consciousness of the upper ground is superior. Therefore, the eye of the upper ground can be the basis of the consciousness of the lower ground, because the eye faculty of the fourth dhyana can be the basis of the eye consciousness included in the first dhyana ground. The form that becomes its object belongs to the lower ground, its own ground, and the upper ground, because when the basis of the first dhyana accomplishes the actual practice of the fourth dhyana and obtains the eye faculty included in the fourth ground, the consciousness that depends on that eye faculty can see its own ground, the first dhyana, the lower ground desire realm, and the upper ground, the three forms included in the fourth dhyana ground. For example, just as an ordinary person relying on a powerful king can accomplish great deeds. The body's form and consciousness are both in all grounds, its own ground, lower ground, and upper ground. The ear is also the same. There is no lower ear on the body, the ear cannot hear the sound of the upper ground, the consciousness is also that sound, and both are in all grounds on the body. Combine it like that. The three consciousnesses of the tongue, nose, and body, together with their bases, faculties, and objects, are all the same as their own ground. In particular, the body's consciousness belongs to the lower ground, because the consciousness of the basis of the fourth dhyana belongs to the first dhyana ground. What belongs to its own ground is the desire realm and the first dhyana. The mind's consciousness is not necessarily the same as its own object and ground, because it can take the forms of all upper and lower grounds as its object. Second, the two are divided by consciousness.

That is, the meaning of "five." The five external sources of birth transform into the objects of two consciousnesses, that is, form becomes the object of both eye consciousness and mind consciousness, and the same is true for the other four. The third is the meaning of "unconditioned dharmas are permanent." All unconditioned dharmas are permanent, and all others are impermanent. The fourth is the distinction from the perspective of whether or not they are faculties: "Half of the dharmas and which, twelve are said to be faculties within." This means that half of the dharma realm, that is, the five feelings such as pleasure, etc., and the five faculties such as the faculty of faith, etc., the three faculties of life and purity, a total of fourteen, and which realms are said to be twelve within are faculties, and all others are not said to be faculties. From the commentary on the Abhidharmakosha, "Precious Spike," called "Chapter on Realms," which is the first chapter. The Second Chapter Explanation of the Chapter on Faculties Second, explaining the chapter on faculties, there are three parts: the nature of the faculties, the way conditioned dharmas arise, and the way causes, conditions, and results arise. First, there are four parts: the way faculties are established, the determination of number, the essence, and the detailed distinctions. First, there are two schools: the Vaibhashika school and the Sautrantika school. The first is: "The five act on four meanings, the four act on two meanings, the five and eight act on defilement and purification." This means that the five faculties, such as the eye faculty, etc., act on four meanings, that is, protecting the body, beautifying the body, taking objects as conditions, and producing their own result consciousness, these four functions. The male faculty, female faculty, life faculty, and mind faculty act on two meanings, that is, the male faculty shows that the individual who is the basis is male, and acts on the nature of maleness. The female faculty also acts in the same way. The life faculty causes the similar aggregates to arise from the previous moment to the next moment, and causes arising to abide. The mind faculty causes the actions of body and speech to act in accordance with the mind. The five feeling faculties and the eight pure faculties act on defilement and purification respectively. The second is: "Because they act on their own meaning and all, taking as conditions, they are six faculties. Because they act on the female body and the male body, the female faculty and the male faculty arise in the body. Because they act on lineage, defilement, and purification."
