That is, one aspect of the eye and the dharma realm. The five afflictive views and the three correct views, these eight are views. That is also established on the wisdom that arises within the sphere of consciousness. The wisdom of consciousness that arises simultaneously with the five sense consciousnesses is not a view, because it is neither an afflictive view nor a correct view. The first is not, because it is not an inverted superimposition on the true object. The second is not, because it is not a mind that ascertains its own object through belief in the law of karma. The second is: The eye sees forms with a basis, it is not the consciousness that relies on it. Because of the intervening form, it is not seen. The eye sees with both, because seeing with both is clearer than seeing with one. That is to say, the eye is a view, because it is what sees forms. That is also not just the one with a basis among the two, the one with a basis and the equal one, because consciousness is necessary as a companion for the eye to see forms. It is not only the consciousness that relies on it that sees, because if it saw, then the intervening forms would also have to be seen, but it is not seen. That is also seen by both eyes, because seeing with both is clearer than seeing with one. In the third aspect, how the senses grasp objects, how the senses become a basis, and which ground they belong to, these three aspects. The first aspect is: The eye and the mind and the ear, the three that do not touch the object are different, the three, nose and so on, are thought to equally grasp the object. That is to say, do the senses grasp by touching the object or by not touching it? Do they grasp equally or unequally? The eye and the mind and the ear, these three grasp without touching the object, because the eye sees distant forms, the ear hears distant sounds, and the mind makes all the forms of the three times its object. The nose and the other three grasp by touching the object. Also, the nose and the other three are thought to grasp objects equal to themselves, because the tongue sense grasps the particles of taste equal to its own particles, but does not grasp those larger than it, and so on. The second aspect is: The last five supports have ceased, those are also born together, those change and then change

Therefore. The support is the eye and so on. Therefore, it is because it is not common. They show consciousness. It means that the last consciousness only depends on the Adhipati-pratyaya that has passed in its own time, and does not depend on the consciousness that is simultaneous with itself, and the Adhipati-pratyaya of the first five consciousnesses has both passed in its own time and produced simultaneously with itself. Eye consciousness also arises from the Adhipati-pratyaya colored root, which is the same as arising from the object-condition color. From the perspective of Adhipati-pratyaya, it is called root consciousness. Why is it not called object consciousness from the perspective of object-condition? Because "the support is the eye and so on", the colored eye root is the uncommon Adhipati-pratyaya of eye consciousness, because with the different powers of them, eye consciousness also becomes different. Color is not the uncommon object of eye consciousness, because it is contrary to the above argument. Therefore, from the perspective of Adhipati-pratyaya, it is shown as root consciousness. It is not called object consciousness from the perspective of object, The colored root is the uncommon Adhipati-pratyaya of root consciousness. Because color is not its uncommon object. The third is: There is no lower eye on the body. The eye has no upper color. Consciousness is also its color. Both of the body are everywhere. The ear is the same, these three are. Everything is its own ground. Body consciousness is below and. One's own ground mind is uncertain. It means that among the four, the root-dependent body, the root that depends on it, consciousness, and the object. The five root-dependent and the five roots are the five grounds, because there are five that belong to the desire realm and the four dhyanas. Eye consciousness, ear consciousness, and body consciousness are the two grounds, because there are those belonging to the desire realm and the first dhyana, and none belonging to the second dhyana or above. The four nose-tongue consciousnesses, smell and taste, are the one ground, because they belong to the one ground of the desire realm. The two object-colors, sound, and the three touches belong to the five of the four dhyanas and the desire realm. Combined with the scriptures, the upper body does not depend on the lower eye, because the upper body has a more excellent self than the lower eye.
