Firstly, the power of knowing what is and is not the case has ten aspects. The fruition of karma has eight, as do meditative stabilizations, etc. Faculties, faith, and elements have nine. Paths have ten. Secondly, it is the knowledge of conventional truths. Exhaustion has six or ten. That is to say, the power of knowing what is and is not the case has ten aspects of knowledge, that is, it possesses all ten types of knowledge. The power of knowing the maturation of karma has eight aspects of knowledge, because it possesses all except for the two knowledges of cessation and path. The power of knowing meditative stabilizations, formless realms, etc., as well as faculties, faith, and elements, has nine aspects, because it possesses all except for the knowledge of cessation. The power of knowing the path of universal going, together with its results, is present because it arises from the nature of all ten types of knowledge. The power of knowing past lives, death, and rebirth is definitely singular, because it is solely the knowledge of conventional truths. The power of knowing the nature of the exhaustion of defilements arises from the nature of six types of knowledge, namely, the knowledge of dharma, the knowledge of subsequent dharma, the two knowledges of exhaustion and non-arising, the knowledge of cessation, and the knowledge of conventional truths. If considered from the perspective of skillful means, there are ten, because it arises from the nature of all ten types of knowledge. The power of knowing past lives, taking, death, and rebirth is definitely singular, because it is solely the knowledge of conventional truths. The power of knowing the nature of the exhaustion of defilements arises from the nature of six types of knowledge, namely, the knowledge of dharma, the knowledge of subsequent dharma, the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising, the knowledge of conventional truths, and the knowledge of cessation. Secondly, the power of past lives, death, and rebirth is in meditative stabilization, while the rest are in all realms. That is to say, the power of past lives, death, and rebirth relies on the ground, because it relies on and exists in the ground of the fourth meditative stabilization. The remaining eight rely on the ground, because they are present in all aspects, such as the desire realm. Thirdly, why? Why is this power unobstructed? That is to say, why are these called powers? It is explained: Because there is no obstruction to all dharmas. Secondly, the power of the body is the power of a son without craving for the body. Others with effort have elephants, etc., the power calculated by seventy. That is the birth place of touch. Fearlessness is of four types. How is it a power?
