The bird is intoxicated. The early winter sun is without stain. Winter is worthy of praising sandalwood. Such ways that contradict the seasons have all been explained. It means that lotuses bloom at night, and during the day, water lilies display their clear beauty. Spring is when trees flourish. Summer is when clouds gather. The sound of geese is fitting to be heard in summer. Autumn is the season when peacocks are intoxicated with joy. The early winter sun is without stain, and winter is worthy of praising sandalwood. Such ways that contradict the seasons have all been explained. Third, contradicting the arts, includes the summary of things and meanings. First is: The ways that contradict the arts, will be slightly explained, for example: The substance of bravery and elegance, showing anger and wonder. It means that the ways that contradict the arts will also be slightly explained. For example, the things presented by the demeanor of bravery and elegance, what is shown or exists during the duration of the demeanor, are anger and wonder. The changes in the demeanor of bravery and elegance should be joy and happiness, but it is not expressed that way. Second is: These seven complete tones, fully enter into different paths. Like this, the contradictions in the sixty-four arts should be well understood. From the complete division of the arts, its nature will become clear. It means that the righteous, the earth-holder, the six-born, the intermediate, the wise, the fifth, the attendant listener—these seven tones are complete, meaning all seven are complete, or each of these fully enters into different paths in accordance with their respective fields of entry. Therefore, the ways in which the sixty-four arts are contradicted should be well understood, and from the treatise on the complete division of the arts, that is, the fourth chapter written by this teacher, its nature will become clear.
