Then, what is the second example of smearing? If it is said that the smearing itself is both the dharma and the possessor of dharma, then only a madman would say such a thing. Those who are not mad, whose minds abide in their own nature, do not explain it in this way, because the dharma and the possessor of dharma are both recognized as distinct in the world and in the scriptures.\ Furthermore, if 'doing' is a metaphor, then this verb will become powerless. If it cannot accomplish its own action, it will not become a reference for other things. This means that if the 'doing' of 'smearing' is taken as a metaphor, then the verb 'smear,' which ends in 'ting,' will become powerless, because it cannot even accomplish its own action of 'smearing,' then it will not become a reference for things like darkness.\ Also, if someone says that this smearing is similar to darkness, then the phrase 'on the body' is not related, because it is necessary to observe whether they have the same qualities. This means that if the debater says that this smearing, which is the meaning, and the darkness, which is the metaphor, are similar, then the phrase 'on the body' is in the middle, making the metaphor and the meaning unrelated, because it is necessary to observe whether the metaphor and the object of metaphor have the same qualities, and since this is not the case here, it cannot become a metaphoric ornament.\ Also, for example, 'Your face is like the moon,' in this way, beauty can be understood. Similarly, for this smearing, it is impossible to understand anything other than smearing. This means that if we prove with a metaphor, for example, 'Your face is like the moon,' by combining the moon and the face, which are the metaphor and the object of metaphor, it can be understood that the face is very beautiful, like the moon. Similarly, for this smearing, it is impossible to understand any quality other than the quality of smearing, such as the quality of being similar to darkness.\ Therefore, this smearing and the agent of darkness, and the body are also closely connected as objects. The poet should think of such sentences in this way: because the reality of things is that the darkness is so dense that the body cannot be seen, and apart from that, darkness cannot be smeared on the human body, even so, it should be described exaggeratedly, like darkness smearing on the ground.

These should not be mistaken for simile ornaments, but should be regarded as ornaments called "extreme speculation." The fourth is: Sounds such as "think," "doubt," "certain," "similar," "is it not," etc., clearly show extreme speculation. The sound like... is also the same as this. It means that sounds like "think," "doubt," "certain," "similar," "is it not," etc., and the thoughts, distinctions, Dharma views, how, etc. that arise from them, are used to clearly show extreme speculation, and it should be known that the sound like... is also the same as this. The thirteenth is the cause ornament, which is divided into two types: general praise of the three ornaments, and the actual cause ornament. The first is: Cause and subtle parts are the best of the ornaments of words. It means that it is easy to understand. The second is divided into: definition, example, and summary of meaning. The first is: Cause is the maker and the knower, and these can be exemplified in many ways. It means that, in general, the cause ornament is divided into two types: the maker and the knower. Among them, the cause of the maker refers to the production of a result that did not exist before, such as the sprouting of a sprout from a seed; the cause of the knower refers to knowing fire from smoke. The differences between these can be exemplified in many ways. The second is divided into: the cause of objects, the cause of non-objects, and the cause of wonders. The first is: the cause of the maker and the cause of the knower. The first is divided into: the cause of production, the cause of destruction, and the cause of action. The first, for example: The wind of Malaya makes the branches of the new sandalwood tree sway, which makes everyone happy. It means that the cool wind of southern Malaya makes the branches of the new sandalwood tree sway, which makes everyone's heart happy. The explanation of the meaning is: Suitable for producing joy, bringing the nature close together here, has been well shown as the ornament itself, and the opposite is the same. It means that the cool wind with a good fragrance, suitable for producing joy, bringing the nature close together, and the situation that matches the words here, has been well shown as the ornament of the cause of production itself, and the cause of destruction, which is the opposite, is also the same.
