This embellishment that is spoken of is the most excellent of all. Twelfth, the embellishment of hyperbole has four aspects: definition, example, refutation of false assumptions, and explanation of clarifying words. The first is: Whether sentient beings or other things, whose form is different from the state in which they exist, where they speculate in a different way, this should be known as an example of hyperbole. It means that whether it is sentient beings or other inanimate objects, the form of these things is different from the hyperbole that one wants to express, and the original state of things is how it is. In such a combination of words, speculation is made in a different way, and it is expressed through fabrication. This should be known as the embellishment of hyperbole. For example: Second, first is the example of sentient hyperbole: The elephants scorched by the sun at noon enter the lake, wondering if they want to destroy the lotus facing the sun? It means that the elephants scorched by the sun at noon enter the lotus lake because they cannot retaliate against the sun that scorched them, so they want to destroy the lotus facing the sun? The explanation of the meaning is: In order to bathe, drink water, and eat lotus roots, those who hold lotuses enter the water, because they want to retaliate, so the poets speculate and express it in this way. It means that originally, in order to bathe, drink water, and eat lotus roots, those who hold lotuses enter the water, but the poets speculate that it is because they want to retaliate against the sun, so they want to destroy the sun's friend, the lotus. Second, the example of inanimate hyperbole: This is to prevent my longing, saying it is an ear ornament, as if your eyes are coveting the lotus of the ear. It means that this string of উৎপལ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, utpala, Romanized Sanskrit, Utpala flower) is to prevent the eyes from longing for me, so it is said that I am an ear ornament, and then it comes. Moreover, it seems that your eyes are coveting and staring at the beauty of the উৎপལ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, utpala, Romanized Sanskrit, Utpala flower) of the ear. The explanation of the meaning is: The tears from the corners of the eyes fall, and the light of the eyes shines on the উৎপལ་ (Tibetan, Devanagari, utpala, Romanized Sanskrit, Utpala flower), even if there is no contact, the poets speculate and express it in this way. It means that only the tears from the corners of the eyes fall,

As a seed, although the light of the eyes invades the lotus, it does not actually touch it, but the poet describes it in such an exaggerated way. The third is with the word "like": darkness is like being smeared on the body, the sky is like raining eye medicine. This is also considered to be an extreme exaggeration, with a great many characteristics. It means that the darkness of the night is like being smeared on oneself, and the sky is like raining eye medicine. This is also considered to be an extreme exaggeration, and there are very many characteristics of such extreme exaggeration. The third is: Here, some people mistakenly think that this is a metaphor because of the word "like". Not a metaphor ending in "ting". Transcending the words of belief. It means that, like "darkness is like being smeared on the body" and so on, the metaphor just mentioned, some people mistakenly think that this is a metaphor because it has the word "like". If that is the case, in the Indian version, "like smearing" is "limbati", and "like raining" is "varsati", both of which end in "ting", so it is not a metaphor. If it is said to be a metaphor, then corresponding reasons must be given, because many trustworthy scholars such as Chandragomin say so, so it is unreasonable to express beyond these words. In addition, metaphors and things to be metaphorized depend on similar properties. For smearing and darkness, has this property manifested? It means that this not only contradicts the scriptures, but also contradicts reason. If it is a metaphor, then the metaphor and the thing to be metaphorized must depend on each other's similar properties. But there is no such property here, so it is not a metaphor. If it is said that both smearing and darkness can become metaphors and things to be metaphorized, then metaphors and things to be metaphorized must have common similarities in color, shape, function, etc. But here, no such property is seen, so it is not a metaphor. Moreover, if you want the act of smearing itself, then what other meaning does the word smearing have? It itself is the nature and the thing with the nature. This is not nonsense without understanding. It means that if you want to take the act of smearing itself as a similar property, then what other meaning does the word smearing itself have?
