Some proceeded in succession, reaching the foot of the northern Empty Valley Ridge (stong lung ra) and the slopes of Confluence Ridge (sbyor ra). They settled down, and at Trashi Thongmon (bkra shis mthong smon) Monastery, they saw all the monks dressed in lay clothes, wandering around the village like dogs. Some officials said, "What is this monastery called?" Some said, "It's called Trashi Thongmon (bkra shis mthong smon)." Although the abbot of the monastery was Minlingpa (smin grol gling pa), now because of the need to pay salaries, there is also a representative sent by the government to this monastery, saying that they are going to make distinctions. Thinking in his heart, "For that Tibu (ti bu) Secret Mantra Tree, I have associated with it longer than you," and so on, he also said some temporary, false things, with related answers, and offered suggestions. That night, at the house of a blacksmith in a place near the Droshi (sgro gzhi) home of the one called the Thousand Chief, they spent the night, and the blacksmith talked about this matter: "The so-called Minling (smin gling), whether it's oneself or others, all those related, seem to be very good at pushing people into suffering." Before, someone called Shabdrung Upala (zhabs drung u pa lags) pretended to marry a woman from Jasa (bya sa), saying that he was going to come here. Therefore, the government investigated, and it is not known where he is going. Now, people from the Dzong (rdzong) have been sent to search in all directions. It would be good if they caught him. When one declines, everyone becomes an enemy. Even if unnecessary words pierce the heart like arrows, he pretended not to understand Tibetan. The next morning, they proceeded in succession from the government side of Jam (lcam), and when they spent the night in Gyalma (gnyal smad) village, they gave a small amount of bone ash powder to the lodging, and it was accepted calmly. Originally hoping to give it, but without opening his mouth, he thought, "With followers, anything is fine." After a while, he opened his mouth and offered it. He said that eating it would become a cause for the giver to accumulate immeasurable merit. After that, they went to the foot of Potala Yangtse (pho brang yang rtse), and to someone named Zhamring Tsewang Darpo (zham ring tshe dbang dar po), they instructed him not to reveal secrets, and sought help from Jasa (bya sa) Dzong. At that time, Samgon Shabdrung Pema (bsam dgon zhabs drung padma) was also there, and they got along well. They satisfied him with food and drink, and interrogated him very strictly, but did not get the truth. When did the secret get leaked? Someone who knew an official from Jasa (bya sa) offered a lot of help.

Coming here. Please consider the words that are unexamined and untrustworthy. Do not meet in person, take the favorable conditions as your own. Saying to rest for three days. Again, from there, proceed to Jasa Dzong. Progressing along the left side, by noon, Two red-clad people appeared, following the trail. They thought they were following the trail of Jasa. When the entourage became fearful and worried, Upon approaching, Padma, the attendant of Samgon Shabdrung, with arrows, Each carrying a banner on their shoulders, arrived before him. Even though the inside was filled with rough thorns, From the soft petals of the lotus-like tongue, He spoke these pleasant words: "Venerable one, I am certain that you are with your entourage, My heart is tormented by unbearable pain. Desiring to meet is like a thirsty person desiring water, But I have not found a way to meet you in the past. This time, using the excuse of raising banners, I say that I came to meet you out of faithful longing." Since you possess the mind of enlightenment, You did not speak evil words that would disturb others' minds, But some long-tongued people, filled with resentment, Speak harsh words as if eating horse dung. Rather than relying on bloodless relatives, It is better to like enemies who know shame and embarrassment. Like the great treasure masters, father and son, in the past, Like the cherished eyeballs cared for in two ways, You, who were raised, have lost your sense of shame. With a shameless face, repaying the kindness of Lapa Namtar, With evil, That wish-fulfilling supreme son of the Victorious Ones, You handed him over to the enemy's hands through various deceptions. Not satisfied with that, we, the master and servants, Sleeping on the cold ground, with cold stones as pillows, Relying solely on beggar's food for sustenance, With the means of wandering in desolate lands, Even in this situation of escaping from the enemy's hands, What is the purpose of coming to meet us, following our trail, With the evil deeds of proclaiming in the marketplace? Having shot out harsh words like arrows, The other party, heartbroken, replied as follows: "One occurrence does not necessarily mean it will always happen. The reason is that earlier, Shabdrung Upala, Traveled to this area to avoid falling into enemy hands, Saying that he requested help like rain entering a river, But in the end, he believed the false lies of a carnivorous bird, Now
