Then, in the assembly hall of the Potala Palace, he performed the Tsedrup (long-life practice) for five days, and in the presence of Guru's footprints, he bestowed the Chiblu (ransom of life) and a hundred long-life empowerments upon Shabdrung (official title), and then returned to the monastery. Then, at the end of September, according to the Emperor's decree, he went to Samye Monastery (བསམ་ཡས་, Samye Town in present-day Shannan Prefecture, Tibet), and performed the suppression, Torma, Dharma protector offerings, subjugation of gods and demons, consecration, and other rituals, and then returned, and repaired the eaves of the Labrang (residence of the political and religious leader). For several weeks, effortless Samadhi naturally increased, and he said that he realized many later coincidences from this. At dawn, he performed a week of protective and repelling practices, and on the twenty-ninth, he threw the Torma, and returned to the monastery. On the eighteenth of December, according to the Emperor's decree, he rode to the Potala Palace. Immediately, he met the Emperor alone, and on the twenty-fourth, he met Yawsi Desi Rinpoche (Regent), and from that day on, in the guise of offering to Yawsi and all the officials, he offered the Regent himself many empowerments and blessings of the Long Life Tent, Hayagriva, Vajrakilaya, etc., as well as ransom of life, liberation, bathing, and removal of obstacles.
