Then, he cut off all distractions and entered retreat. At that time, starting from the beginning of the Black Month (Tibetan November), he felt slightly unwell, and his illness gradually worsened. On the night of the fifteenth, he focused his mind on the torment of the illness, and as he rested a little, in a dream, a clear and luminous vision mingled with the appearance of pure light. He traveled unhindered to the western sky, and in the center of delightful places such as jeweled rocky mountains, forests, flower gardens, etc., a magnificent palace built of various jewels stood tall. King Indrabhuti (Sanskrit Devanagari: इन्द्रभूति, Sanskrit Romanization: Indrabhūti, Chinese literal meaning: Free Being) with supreme radiance, sat on a noble throne with many consorts and attendants. He instantly arrived before the king and prayed with great devotion. The king handed him a golden vase filled with nectar and a jeweled bowl with a burning lamp, blessed him, and introduced him to the profound teachings. On the seventh day of the fourth month of the Earth Dragon year, he went to a place similar to the practice site of Draphu (transliteration) in Sukhavati. That night, at dawn, Vajra Yu Dronma manifested as a beautiful woman adorned with gold and jade ornaments, riding on lightning, accompanied by the sound of musical instruments, flying in the sky, and vowed to accomplish the desired activities together. This was the dream he had of going to the western sky. Starting from the beginning of the winter Gyal month (Tibetan December) of that year, he strictly observed the retreat, not even participating in the year-end ceremonies and the New Year celebrations of the Earth Snake year (1749), but remained single-mindedly focused on his practice. At that time, at midnight on the fifteenth of the Chu month (Tibetan May), in a vision of clear light wisdom, he saw a double-layered stupa like crystal, surrounded by stone slabs, on a square platform. The Dharma Lord, the Great Omniscient One (Kunchyen Chenpo), in an aged appearance, with sparse teeth, wearing monastic robes and a cloak, and a majestic pandita hat, sat with unparalleled radiance. He prostrated with great reverence, and the master, with a joyful expression, said: "The definite understanding of how it is realized, has reached the supreme meaning. This is the intention of all the Buddhas, Therefore, may this activity be expanded. Do not be arrogant or conceited, Taming the difficult sentient beings of the degenerate age, With love and compassion"

I pray that the great Jetsun cherishes me, And generates the strength of heart for benefit and happiness. Thus, a dream of instruction appeared. From that time on, the retreat began from the end of the Dawa month (དབོ་ཟླ,May), mainly without wavering from practice, staying single-mindedly focused. During the breaks after meals during the day, he also continuously worked on compiling listening records. On the evening of the fourth day of the Black Month (ནག་ཟླ,January) and when Mercury was retrograde, the mother of the Zhabdrung (ཞབས་དྲུང་) lineage Rinpoche had a dream of bodily discomfort, which was generally chaotic. In particular, the emanation departed with various wonderful musical instruments in the western sky. On the evening of the fifth day, after performing offerings gathered in the land of Lanka and Devi Kota, he went to the pure land of Dhuma Sthura, and the emanation merged into the realm of its own nature. Later, the signs of the dream were firm, and the emanation comforted with miracles and promised prophecies, etc., as in the dream. On the evening of the twenty-first of that month, when the emanation merged into the realm of the co-emergent female, Galaba. From the Jetsun himself, the stainless, pure wisdom of the clear light of his own nature arose, and he was cared for with instructions appropriate to that time, such as clarifications. And in order to conform to worldly customs, he also performed extensive offerings of body images. On the crown of his head, the letter (ཧྲཱིཿ,Sanskrit Devanagari: ह्रीः,Sanskrit Romanization: hrīḥ,Literal Chinese meaning: Śrī) appeared, and on his teeth, the self-arisen image of the Eleven-Faced Avalokiteśvara, and other wonderful signs were clearly shown. That winter, sporadic measles broke out in the vicinity, and under the pretext of avoiding measles, he traveled to Darjeeling on the seventh day of the Min Drug month (སྨིན་དྲུག་ཟླ,October). From the twelfth onwards, he went into retreat, focusing single-mindedly on the practices of the generation stage and the completion stage. At the beginning of the Go month (མགོ་ཟླ,February), after the inner retreat ended, during the outer retreat, he gave profound teachings to his mother and uncles, and a few other fortunate ones. He made two hundred thousand tsatsas containing the stainless dharani. In addition, he also made many small tsatsas of Amitabha, Padmasambhava, and Tara, and large tsatsas of Shakyamuni Buddha's copper images, all by hand with medicinal clay. And according to what was appropriate, he made clothes of gold, silver, and copper for the images, and used them as fillings for the Great Stupa. There, on the Saga
