Upon arrival, the close attendants at the entrance of the chambers offered scarves, followed by the monastery's stewards and monks, as well as the noblewomen from the estates, secretaries, and many pilgrims from Lhasa, who presented gifts in succession. From that day onwards, about eighty monks, mainly new recruits of the great monastery, received the empowerment and blessings of Lama Sangdu (bla ma gsang 'dus), Kagye Sangdzog (bka' brgyad gsang rdzogs), Drowa Kundrol ('gro ba kun sgrol), Trochu (khro chu), Yangzlog Gyachen Kor (yang bzlog rgya can skor), and many subsequent permissions and life-force transmissions related to Dharma protectors for five consecutive days. After that, according to the custom of common offerings, the longevity empowerment of Draminyen (sgra mi snyan) was offered in turn, followed by the empowerment of Gyachen Drolod (rgya can gro lod), the empowerment and transmission of Yuthog Nyingthig (g.yu thog snying thig) and the nectar vase, the longevity empowerment of Kusum Rigdu (sku gsum rigs 'dus) and Chimé Palter ('chi med dpal ster), the subsequent permission of Naga Raksha (梵文:Nāgarakṣa,Nāgarakṣa,Dragon Protector), the lineage transmission of Loktri (梵文罗马拟音:loktri, loktri,Worldly Mother), the removal of planetary poisons, the release from curses, the release from spirits, the removal of defilements, and the ransom of death. From the fifteenth onwards, he engaged in practice, and from sunrise on the twenty-ninth until dawn on New Year's Day, he performed the rituals of Kikhang Lungdrub (ki kang rlung brubs) and the throwing of zorma under the Great Golden Stupa and other places. At that time, on the evening of the twenty-ninth, a monk named Tenzin Samdrub (bstan 'dzin bsam 'grub) fell from the wall on the southwest corner, a height of five stories, but suffered no harm. Many monks of the monastery received the transmission and practical instructions of many fierce mantras such as Loktri (梵文罗马拟音:loktri, loktri,Worldly Mother) and Lungdrub (rlung brubs). He gave empowerments, transmissions, and instructions to many interested people, including the above-mentioned close attendants, monks from Sera and Drepung monasteries, secretaries, and retreatants from Lhasa. He was also invited to Chuzang (chu bzang) to bestow empowerment and blessings for dispelling obstacles. On the way back, he bestowed obstacle-clearing ransom rituals to Drubgya Gelong (grub rgya dge slong) at Pabongka (pha bong kha), and then returned to the Potala Palace (rtse). On the twenty-fourth, the representative of Chambo Jampa Lha (chab mdo rgyal ba 'phags pa lha) came specifically with outstanding offerings and was received with great hospitality. From the empowerment of Amitayus and Hayagriva bestowed upon the master and disciples together, their hearts and minds became one, and they exchanged greeting letters every year. At that time, according to the instruction to send a monk proficient in the practice of mantras, Bhikshu Orgyen Sonamchen (o rgyan bsod nams can) was sent again.
