Within the (treasure) box were the Guru's (Padmasambhava) representative image (thong grol, liberating upon sight), and the form of secret practice, along with thirteen scrolls containing various implements for Dharma practices. There were also over three thousand pills of the bliss of skillful means and wisdom, all wrapped in colored silks and coated with powders mixed with incense and medicine, which were then opened. Blessings were also bestowed upon those assembled. At that time, the sky was clear, and wondrous signs such as a great sound like thunder were manifested. Messengers were also dispatched to report the situation to the supreme omniscient Gyalwang Rinpoche (possibly referring to the Karmapa or Dalai Lama) and the great ruler (mi dbang chen po). They were very pleased and bestowed a letter of commendation, along with many valuable gifts. Then, in November, I (the author) served as the scribe for three marked scrolls, arranging them into books. Afterwards, I entered retreat for a month, opening the Dharma gate of treasure practice through tsok, torma offerings, and other rituals. Later, in the new Iron Bird year, I again entered strict retreat for treasure practice, and auspicious signs manifested. At times, the past and future incarnations of the venerable one (rje nyid, referring to the author himself), as well as all activities and benefit for beings, appeared clearly in his mind like a dream. The retinue and disciples of that time were also seen clearly. If there was particular attachment, these visions would naturally disappear, and such situations occurred frequently. One night, in a dream, in a place where valleys, forests, and rocky mountains extended haphazardly to the east and west, a great river surged with turbulent waves. The venerable one himself was standing on the southern bank of the river. When he attempted to cross the river to reach the northern bank, he was almost swept away by the water. At that moment, a young woman with a reddish complexion reached out her hand and pulled him up, safely reaching the shore. She said, "This is the abyss of samsara," pointing with her finger. He saw that in the east, darkness shrouded the area, and flames flickered like lightning, presenting an unbearable scene of terror. And in the west, it was said to be the path to nirvana, a path like a stretched white silk, with its edges constantly expanding, as bright and clear as the sun. As she prayed to the Guru (Padmasambhava), she led him forward, as if invited, and the venerable one also recited prayers together.

Finally, as he continued to ascend, in the midst of a lush forest thick with sandalwood and ailanthus trees, there was a rocky mountain shimmering with the radiance of jewels, its peak seemingly reaching for the sky. The mountain valleys were adorned with trees, green grass, flowers, and rivers, where many birds and animals frolicked. A winding gray path marked the mountainside. As he climbed following the footsteps of the previous woman, at the summit, he saw a portico of crystal-clear stone steps, adorned with stables, leading to three levels of platforms, all decorated with square blue crystal slabs. In the center was a jewel-encrusted pond covered with various flowers, surrounded by magnificent palaces supported by jeweled pillars, their splendid structures inspiring awe. The entire environment was surrounded by countless deities, sages, and renunciates, who were performing lively offerings with various sacrificial items. The lord himself, in a manner similar to them, made offerings and prayers, ascending with intense devotion. In the center of the palace, on a jeweled throne, he beheld the great master Padmasambhava surrounded by an inconceivable assembly of attendants. Due to the intense devotion that arose in his heart, a fiery and sharp flame shot forth from the tip of the master's right hand, from the threatening gesture of the raised forefinger, touching his body. He felt an unbearable heat, was burned, and lost consciousness. When he awoke, he saw before him the mandala of Great Compassion Avalokiteśvara, complete with the deity and retinue, as clear as a naturally arising fruit mandala. He himself, in the form of a deity, stood at the entrance to the mandala, entering into it. He was sequentially granted the four empowerments, and the essential points of the profound teachings were explained and imparted to him. He felt that the realization of all these was clearly imprinted in his mind. Then, the master placed his hand on his head, blessed him, and gave some oral instructions, and all the words and meanings of the profound Dharma clearly arose in his mind. Again, to the west of that, in the center of a lush forest, was a turquoise lake. In the center of the lake, on the face of a steep rock like a red coral reef, was a cave like a cleaved egg. Inside the cave, a young and beautiful woman, full of vitality, wearing a red cotton bodice and fire
