He also made many large paintings of Karma with medicinal mud by hand, and according to the suitability of the three materials of gold, silver, and copper, he offered robes and made them the relics of Kumbum Monastery. There, during the Saga month, he mainly focused on his practice without wavering. During breaks, he gave Dharma to a few secluded monks, and in order to make offerings to the emperor, he merged the common land of Tarling. He personally took on meaningful activities such as the wheel of action, and then returned to the monastery. Afterwards, starting from the end of the ninth month of the Earth Mouse year (1948), until the full moon of the twelfth month of the Ox year, in order to avoid smallpox, he only greeted one or two important people slightly, and other than meeting through the crack in the door, he remained in retreat for more than a year. Mainly, he remained unwavering in the view of the Great Perfection, self-appearing and undifferentiated. During meals, after the Dharma assembly, he continuously bestowed many profound Dharmas such as the teachings of the Great Perfection Mind Series to the Shabdrung lineage Rinpoche brothers and younger brother Jowo, and a few close attendants. Sometimes, in conjunction with observation, he recited the mantras of many deities, and changed the corresponding mantras and visualizations of the rituals according to the praised activities. That year, many people in all regions faced death due to smallpox, and he accepted the objects requesting help as stupas, re-copied the names, and presented them separately in order, dedicating them, and sometimes combining them, performing purification of obscurations, etc., and he accepted them with loving eyes, thus taking them into his care. Afterwards, except for walking around slightly during the year-end Dharma assembly ceremonies, he did not meet with anyone high or low, and while continuing the internal and external isolation, from the seventh to the fifteenth of the Black Month of the Iron Tiger year (1950), the three of us, Rinpoche himself, his father and son, the incarnation Genpan Wangpo, the Tangdro incarnation, and about ten attendants, relied on the mandala of the Great Accomplishment Assembly of the Sugatas in that retreat room, and performed the four sessions of mantras according to the elaborate procedures of the Tsok offering ritual.

Through continuous and diligent practice, the potency of the medicine greatly increased, and its smell, taste, and color became excellent. The hermitage was filled with blessings, and on the day of attaining accomplishment, gentle rain fell from the rainbow clouds, all of which were auspicious signs of practice. Due to these blessings, skin diseases in the vicinity vanished as if water had dried up. Therefore, on the tenth day of the increasing month, coinciding with the offering festival, the retreat was concluded. As mentioned earlier, in the wondrous and secluded great sacred sites of realized beings such as Drakmar Chimpu and Yamalung, as well as in Daling's meditation hut Samten Buk, the hermitage retreat Light Peak, and Samten Peak, Trashichöling in Lhodrak, the retreat hut Kunsang Yangtse Dobu and the Immortal Light Cave in the main temple of Mindroling Monastery, and the retreat hut Kunsang Phodrang Dobu in Lhabrang Chökhor Lhunpo, year-long retreats, six-month retreats, three-month retreats, and one-month retreats were undertaken. These retreats included the recitation and practice of peaceful, increasing, powerful, and wrathful deities, Vajrasattva, the Eight Herukas, Great Compassionate One, Yangpur, Yamantaka, Hayagriva, Amitayus, Vajrayogini, Vajrapani, Loktri, Nāga Rakṣa, and approximately thirty-five other yidam deities. Taking the practice of Trekchö of the Great Perfection as the core, combined with Tögal daytime and nighttime yoga, and prana practices, according to the timing, efforts were made to practice continuously. Therefore, in the generation stage practice that prevents impure appearances, the experience of clarity and stability reached its culmination, causing all phenomena to expand into the pure and vast mandala of the victorious ones, thus accomplishing the four activities without obstruction. Due to the purification of the movement of the channels, energies, and bindus in the completion stage within the dhūti, the wisdom of bliss-emptiness blazed in all directions. Enlightenment was attained in the primordially pure, fundamentally complete, and unchanging realm of reality, thereby liberating all samsara and nirvana into the groundless, rootless, equally vast, all-pervading expanse of space. All appearances and experiences arose as self-appearances without distinction, thus purifying the clinging to subject and object in the realm of reality, and perfecting the play of great wisdom. In the state of equanimity, luminosity, and non-conceptuality, whatever arose in the post-meditation state was self-liberated wisdom, manifesting as clear and non-conceptual realization, self-born and self-arisen, thereby dissolving the boundary between equanimity and post-meditation.
