His listening to the Dharma was extensive and based on reliable sources. He thoroughly examined each of the different viewpoints without confusing them, thus serving as a model for study and reflection. Furthermore, he practiced and applied the Dharma he knew from the perspective of acceptance and rejection, thereby integrating listening, reflecting, and meditating into one. Not content with just a part, he truly abided in the excellent Dharma, becoming an unsurpassed object of praise. As it is said in the Abhisamayalankara, "How do dharmas abide in Dharma? If one does not rely on listening and thinking, but only on the practice of meditation, one does not abide in Dharma. If one does not rely on meditation, but only on the practice of listening and thinking, one does not abide in Dharma. One must rely on both and abide in both to abide in Dharma." As extensively stated in the scriptures, he put this into practice, thus seeing the meaning of the reality as it is. Moreover, he clearly and without confusion comprehended all the dharmas, thus gaining mastery over the kingdom of Dharma. How the one with good karma received the profound treasure teachings and how he integrated the practice into his heart. Third, how the one with good karma received the profound treasure teachings and how he integrated the practice into his heart is as follows: From a young age, he possessed a strong spirit of renunciation and immeasurable great compassion to save all unbiased beings. Urged by an unbearable devotion that did not differentiate between the holy guru and the yidam deity, he either accompanied his father, the great Vajradhara, or alone received empowerments and instructions, and dissected the subtle points of the profound meaning during the intervals of listening and contemplating. Apart from these times, he mostly spent his time in retreat. After his father passed away, he spent months at a time or about a month each time in retreat in the "Radiant Peak" chamber and the "Meditation Cave" chamber. Except for meal times, he had no fixed breaks between sessions, but single-mindedly engaged in the recitation of the single yidam deity and guarding the true nature. It is said that during those times, he would occasionally mention many wonderful signs and visions, like scattered hailstones.

Even so, it seems that there was no record of it in the notes that were kept in mind through effort. When he was seventeen years old, on the night of the tenth day of the ninth month of the Water Tiger year (1602), while residing in the meditation chamber of Darling, he dreamt that inside a delightful temple that was supposed to be Samye Chimphu, many Vidyadhara Siddhas of Tibet and China were seated in order, performing a Tsog offering, surrounded by many beautifully adorned women dancing and singing. He himself was sitting below the rows, watching with interest. At the head of the rows, in front of a yogi with matted hair and radiant complexion, who he thought might be the Terton Dorje Lingpa, there was a reddish-brown wooden vase resembling a Sengdeng tree, with a tilted mouth and a long spout filled with essence. The yogi wiped a Kapala (skull cup) that was white on the outside and red on the inside, with golden Dharma source intertwined patterns and the letters of Harinisa written on it, with a red silk cloth, and carefully scooped the contents into it. A beautiful woman poured a white liquid that seemed like rice wine from the previous vase, radiating light and emitting a swooshing sound, filling the Kapala. Another woman also brought a large rhinoceros horn bowl filled with various kinds of food. The yogis, in order, each took a small bite from the food and a sip from the Kapala's drink, but the food and drink in the bowls did not diminish, remaining as before. Later, someone offered the food and drink to him, and he tasted it slightly, and immediately felt the unbearable burning of the bliss-emptiness wisdom. Finally, he thought, "I will regard it as my private property in a white cloth container." At this time, the previous yogi handed him a small reddish-yellow paper roll, saying it was a Geshe monk's hat amulet, and he began to recite it. At the beginning, he only saw the appearance of "Emaho" (藏文:ཨེ་མ་ཧོ།,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:emaho,汉语字面意思:) three times in a row, but the rest was in Chinese characters, which he could not understand, but he held it in his hands as if filled with devotion and tears. At this time, all the yogis disappeared without a trace. He himself also went to a gray slate floor outside the house, and then woke up. After waking up, his body and mind were filled with undefiled joy and bliss, and he remained in this wonderful experience for a long time. At that time
