Having listened to the empowerments, he became one who possessed the three vows. Later, from the supreme Gyalwa Rinpoche, he received the complete lay vows, and from some spiritual friends, he received many methods of generating bodhicitta. In particular, from the previously mentioned lamas, he listened to inconceivable amounts of empowerments, transmissions, instructions, and teachings. In short, he listened to the teachings and treasure teachings of the Nyingma tradition, such as the three sections of Sutra, Illusion, and Mind in the exoteric teachings; the three sections of Lama, Dzogchen, and Thuk in the esoteric teachings; and the Eight Herukas of Kagyé, like all those that are still extant today. Some were like completely mastering those teachings that were almost lost. He also listened to many new tantras and aspects of sutras. Since it is impossible to mention everything here, if you want to understand, please look at the list of teachings received, and you will be amazed. These were not just mere listenings; he thoroughly ascertained them with the wisdom born of thought. In particular, due to the perfection of the power of previous habits and the blessings of the supreme deity, the power of his intelligence was unobstructed, so there was no difficulty in anything, and he knew things excellently just by looking at them. He also experienced those things with the wisdom born of meditation. The way he did this was by doing many single-seat year-long retreats and six-month retreats in places like Chimpu and other places, as well as in old and new monasteries. During those times, he mainly remained in the state of effortless Great Perfection, and the view of Great Perfection, free from effort, self-arising, and non-dualistic, arose. Samatha and vipassana merged into one, and he gained freedom in many doors of the samadhi of clear light and the cycle of existence. The way he practiced the yidam deities was by doing retreats of one year and six months to at least one month for Guru Peaceful and Wrathful, Vajrasattva, Great Compassionate One, Eight Herukas of Kagyé, Glorious Yangdak, Vajrakilaya, Yamantaka, Vajrapani, Tamer of Pride, Amitayus, Red and Black Hayagriva, Vajrayogini, King of Knowledge, Loktri, and not only that, but he also said that he had connected with about twenty-five different kinds of deities for whom he had done retreats with a limit of one week. From those practices, the deities for whom he obtained signs of accomplishment were two deities for whom he obtained signs of common accomplishment, and three different ones that seemed to be signs of supreme accomplishment.

That was all, and he accepted nothing more. Thus, in all conduct, while remaining unwavering from the yoga of union, the order of his constant and uninterrupted practice was as follows: In the yoga of rising at dawn, he would visualize himself as the primordial Heruka, and then perform the recitation of Vajrasattva, the preliminary practice of refuge and bodhicitta, reciting the hundred-syllable mantra at least twenty-one times. After that, he would practice Guru Yoga, choosing whatever order of practice was convenient, mostly meditating on the Guru as the embodiment of all, Orgyen, reciting the Guru's Three Kayas Prayer and the Four Kayas Prayer, and reciting the Vajra Guru mantra at least a hundred and eight times, in the manner of a prayer, radiating and gathering light, receiving the four empowerments, and then remaining in a state of non-duality. Again, in an instant, he would visualize the protective circle and the wrathful red deity, reciting A Tsik Ni Tsik a hundred and eight times each, and occasionally applying the transformation of mantra visualization combined with gazing, etc. After that, combining it with the yoga of Vajrasattva with a single mudra, he would recite the main mantra a hundred and eight times, and the peaceful general mantra fifty times, and finally perform the absorption. After that, combining it with the yoga of the Eight Commands of Kagyé, he would recite Hūṃ three hundred times, and finally recite the heart mantra of the main deity fifty times each, twenty-one times each for the eight glorious ones, and about twenty-one times each for the thirty-five wrathful mantras, visualizing it as a pure mandala of the outer and inner world. He would then perform the blocking recitation of the three syllables, and various vajra recitations, and then merge into clear light. After that, he would remain in equanimity in the yoga of Trekchö, the exhaustion of phenomenal reality as it is. After that, at dawn, he would perform the generation stage yoga of Vajrayogini, reciting it a hundred and eight times, and various completion stage practices such as Tummo and wind practice. After that, he would generate bodhicitta with the seven-branch preliminary practice, in whatever elaborate or concise manner was appropriate. After that, he would perform the water offering of the white torma and Zambala, and then examine various texts, and then go to his seat for the day. First, he would speak in sequence on the meditation sessions that require profound instructions, and then engage in whatever meaningful activities were appropriate. At lunchtime, he would offer ten images of the great teacher and five tsatsas. Then, in the evening, he would go to the protector's chamber in his private room, and like a fish leaping out of the water, he would visualize himself as the primordial Heruka, the Great Glorious One, with...
